So disappointed with this Hotel. We booked on the move after checking Lonely Planet, usually very current and spot on with reviews. When we arrived it did have everything we needed the rooms were great, not bad value and good pool for the kids, unfortunately this once gem of a place now has a massive concrete monstrosity ( a car...

This lovely residence has a restaurant on the roof which serves decent food at reasonable prices. The residence is a heritage house tastefully renovated, with a small pool. Disappointing that there is a skyway being constructed right outside the door.

we tried too....but the work being carried out on the hotels doorstep is horrendous! I was aware of it before we stayed but it still shocks you. What a shame for this beautiful hotel, I do hope people still stay here to experience the old style Indian charm. Good restaurant too, tasty food, cold beer. We stayed for 2 nights,...

We had several meals here although we were not staying. The staff were attentive and professional. Great food and extensive menu. Beer and wine available. Make sure you wear insect repellant the mozzies are prolific. Great book exchange too.

The staff was exellent, they were all very helpfull and friendly, and also proffesional leaving us space so we could feel comfortable. Our room was clean and pleasent, we had the little balcony in front wich was great during the warmest...

I hardly know where to begin with this tale of woe. As others have reported the old Beach Road in front of the Raheem is now becoming a flyover/by pass so that modern Indians in their shiny new Tata saloons can rush from Trivandrum to Cochin in record time and on up the coast to Goa and Mumbai. Sound familiar?...

This is a beautiful old style Indian Residency with lots of old Indian artefacts and furniture scattered about the property. Minnie was so lovely and tried to help with everything we needed (except giving us a room with a bath, which I had asked for)

Ok, first and foremost, YOU need to know that the municipality has decided a bypass (fly over) to deflect traffic. Where are they putting it???? On the beach road of course! So, this charming spot, full of colonial spirit and history will be 100 meters away from this atrocity. It shouldn't deter you to stay there but be prepared. Rooms...

Raheem Residency at Alleppey Beach, one hour south of Cochin, is an 1868 colonial property which was passionately restored in a classic, Indian style in 2003 by a small Indo-European private limited company. It is now recognized by the Tourism Dept of India as a genuine Heritage Hotel of India. Originally built by an Englishman, it was the home of the Raheems, an eminent Alleppey family, for one hundred years.
