We loved our stay at Green Palms. Maria was an excellent host and her mother made wonderful food, taught us how to cook her food and showed us all of the spices and food that grow in their garden. Green Palms is a relaxing, peaceful and wonderful homely place to stay. You feel so welcome, like a part of the...

Lovely homestay on the tranquil island of Chennamkary in the backwaters of Kerala. Excellent host, Maria looked after us very well. The food was typical Keralan food and very good and very plentiful. Lovely way to explore the backwaters in a bit more depth.

For sure we will come back in Maria and Philip(s house. This is a kind f "out of time" moment in a very quiet village life on the island (no car, no motorbike, only bicycles but for how long ??) Please, do not build a bridge to Allepey... Thank's to all Maria's family and to Thomas who told us the...

My friend and I stayed two nights on the beautiful and peaceful island of Chennamkary! Maria and Philipp were wonderful hosts as well as Maria's mom who is such a talented chef!! We loved the very interesting evening walk with Thomas and the cooking class. We stayed in the grandmother's house in a very nice, impeccable room with our own...

My partner and I stayed here for three nights in January 2017, and had the most magical time. We stayed with Maria and Phillip's family who were some of the kindest people one could hope to meet, and they really made us feel at home. The food (made by the grandmother, Anna) was divine. A cocophony of flavours and spices...

A truly enjoyable homestay. we were there just before Christmas & were able to see how the community prepares for Xmas with carols etc. The morning walk is a must- a real eye-opener to backwaters life. Staff were brilliant.

I stayed here with a friend in November 2016 for 3 nights. The homestay was fairly quiet at this time and this meant that we got a room with an en-suite, despite having booked a room with shared bathroom facilities which was an immediate bonus. There's always lots of people coming and going as some guided tour groups stop here...

We loved our stay at Green Palm homes! Our room was very basic but the other rooms with AC were very nice. The food was amazing and we really enjoyed our experience on the island as opposed to staying on a houseboat. We did the morning and evening walks, went cannoing and even took a cooking class. I would actually...

We loved staying here. We arrived by travelling on a small boat. A very warm welcome by Maria offering us a cup of tea/coffee. It was peaceful, the food was good and plentiful. We enjoyed meeting other travellers and sharing stories. We would certainly stay here again.

Unfortunately only stayed one night - I would have liked to stay longer. Clean, charming, quiet, and relaxing. The food was amazing, but then to get the good stuff only homemade will do. Perfect paradise.
