I stayed here with two other students during Semester at Sea and we all thought that Maria and Zach were absolutely wonderful hosts. We had a delicious lunch and they were so open and friendly, sharing about their lives and families with us. It was so incredible! We talked about India’s history, politics, arranged marriage, status of women, education, and... More

My friend and I stayed here during New Years Eve and were extremely satisfied. The couple hosting the homestay, Maria and Zac provided excellent service and hospitality. Maria is an awesome cook and loved every dish she surprised us with. The rooms are great with on-suite wash-room and good facilities. Location is good with only a couple of minutes drive... More

We stayed at Tharavadu as part of our families adoption heritage tour. The accommodations were quiet, the food was excellent, and the owners are very knowledgeable of tourism options in the area as well as very friendly. They helped make our India adventure one to remember.

Zac and Maria made our stay in Alleppey amazing. First, we took a boat ride through the canals which Zac organized for us. In this was included a stop at his Fish Farm where we had fresh coconut water. In the evening we took a trip to the beach for a swim and the sunset followed by an amazing dinner... More

Tharavadu Homestay was the best and most authentic homestay during our trip through India. We spent most of the nights in homestays or so-called homestays, so we think we can make a comparison. You can feel that Zac and Maria have a passion for hosting guests and like to give them a deep insight into Indian life and culture. We... More

We were traveling as a couple and were first time in India. I decided to choose homestay instead of hotel for the first time. And it was the greatest experience in india. This place was like the oasis in noisy Alleppey, the big house with nice territory, trees, lawn and flowers. Maria met us after long journey with great dinner... More

Having read the earlier reviews at tripadvisor I was determined to stay here during my short visit to Allepey. And I was not disappointed at all. The Zacharias are a delightful elderly couple who thoroughly enjoyed spending their time and expertise with us. They welcomed us with warmth and introduced us to to a true Homestay experience. The guest accommodation... More
