We had a wonderful stay at Ayana's Homestay in Alappuzha. From the booking of the homestay, to coordinating and supporting us with taxi & houseboat bookings, Mr. Venugopal was very helpful. Finding that the final stretch to the homestay was by boat - approaching the beautiful house created a sense of excitement. Mr. Venugopal and family provided perfect hospitality. Beautiful...

On a return visit to the backwaters, we had four wonderful days at Ayana's Homestay. Gopal, his family and staff were very hospitable and could not have done more to ensure we had a most enjoyable stay. The rooms are of a high standard and the food was excellent. Lunch was served at the back of the Homestay looking on...

My first home stay! I loved this beautiful and relaxing house, with hammocks swaying in the breeze overlooking the river. Gopal was a gracious and good-humoured host who welcomed our group of 8 with open arms, serving us traditional South Indian dishes (cooked by women who unfortunately stayed in the background) and taking us on a walk around part of...

Very pleasant and serene, comfortable, beautiful murals, gracious hosts, good food. Hosts' son gave us a very interesting tour of the area; we learned a lot. Also an early-morning yoga class. Recommended.

Gopal and his wife re the most gracious hosts and he is extremely knowledgeable about all the land, birds, area, etc. He can customize trips to less busy backwaters. Lovely people, great food, clean rooms. Highly recommend!!

I stayed here for one night as part of an Intrepid tour - we were weary from a long day of travelling and the welcome at Ayana's was so kind and genuine. The location is beautiful with many birds & lotus flowers and little water traffic. We were served two meals both of which were quite good, and as I...

I only stayed for one night but it was a really enjoyable experience. I was warmly welcomed by Gopal into the home and asked to "treat it as my own" during my stay. We were able to access the kitchen at any time and that was great as I was able to chat with the family as though they were...
