Absolutely the best place where to stay in Alleppey! The house is clean, comfortably and close to the city center. Sona is great knowledge and a good manager. He helped us to organize a great canal trip and the train transfer to Cochin

I am really torn about writing this review. The owner of Sona couldn't have been more helpful and wonderful, offering us great advice and spending time with us chatting away. We didn't want to spend time on a houseboat and he instead organised for their colleague 'James' to take us out on his boat. He picked us up from the...

I spent 2 nights at Sona's Heritage Homestay set in a charming location. Mr & Mrs Joseph were very accommodating and friendly providing information for the local area and arranging a magnificent days boating on the Backwaters. However, the owners of properties listed in the Lonely Planet should not get so complacent and be upgrading rooms annually which clearly has...

It was a quiet and quaint place, to just rest and enjoy the solitude. Mr Joseph, a really wonderful character full of stories and very well versed in the english language and knowledge to where and when to visit the touristy spots. This place is not for those who expect luxury but for those who wants to drink in the...

Charming place, in a nice heritage Keralan house, within a beautiful garden. The owners are welcoming, original and funny without being intrusive. They provide good advices about anything around (backwater trips, lunch and dinner, beach..). Rooms are really nice, especially in the main house and well kept. Good breakfast in the garden. So get there.

My partner and I recently stayed at Sona Guest House on the outskirts of Alappuzha. We had travelled from Varkala and were hot and tired. It was the first guest house who actually picked up the phone and had rooms available. Our taxi driver took us to the door although he didn't know the area and it was quite difficult...

They were really kind to me and the backwater tour they arranged for me was great (not an houseboat but the 8h tour with James's boat ). The place is neat and the price is fair.

Thank Andrea T

“The chalets opposite the main house look more private and have their own little balconies. The rooms in main house also have balconies but the one by the main door is a bit less private so try and get one of the others.”
