We reached the place quite late in evening. Was near the bus station. The owner helped with the backwater ferry. We took it and came back for breakfast with was tasty. Again left to see the museum. Came after lunch by 12.00pm the owner was angry as it was check-out time. Talked rudely and did not come out later. We...

Nice place for budget travelers. The rooms are big. And its located near the bus stand. Beds not good (to small). And the mosquito was to small so not really a good protection there. We had a good stay but I needs some improvement. Also there were little people who spoke English as the owner was gone al the time....

Clean, spacious rooms with mosquito nets, a beautiful garden, good food, and really helpful staff. The manager also runs canoe tours of the backwaters for about 700 rupees (much cheaper than the kayaking tours), and that was a really great experience. We opted to do the tour instead of the houseboats because the houseboats are super expensive (5000 rupees minimum)...

Clean rooms in a nice setting. Tony, the manager, was very helpful. The fact he has a houseboat is great too because you don't have to get involved in the haggle and the scrum to find a good one at a reasonable price. No hassle. Would recommend the boat too. Good (and plenty of) food. A great way to spend...

My husband and I enjoyed a stay at hear at the beginning of this year. It is well located and very quiet. Our room had lots of character and was very clean. We also arranged a house boat from managers which we considered to be good value.

We had a lovely stay here at Cherukara nest. The homestay is an interesting 19th century building and we had an a/c room which was on two levels, full of character and very comfortable. Close to the bus station and the backwater boats and ferries it was a perfect base for exploring the backwaters. A surprisingly quiet location although central....

We only stayed at Cherukara Nest for 2 nights, we would have happily spent more. The room was full of character, lovely dark wood furniture really giving the place the antique heritage feel it's going for,man achievement the countless more expensive 'heritage' spots in India often miss. The owner was very friendly and polite, we didn't end up taking either...

Stayed 2 nights after a ferry from Kollam and a visit to the bird sanctuary. Brilliantly located(1min walk from the jetty or 2 mins from the bus station), owner Tony was really friendly and welcoming and had plenty of good advice regarding local sights, getting around etc. Rooms were basic but really clean, cool and spacious. Good breakfast also. Highly...

This is a lovely old building with huge rooms and wonderful features. We have stayed in simpler and more ornate surroundings in India but in our experience Cherukara's nest is the best value hotel we have stayed in so far. Tony is very helpful, though he is a busy man, and always had time to help us with any questions...
