We stayed 3 nights at Chem Chem as chill out at the end of a 12 day safari trip in Tanzania. We didn't want to stay on a beach and the ethos of the "slow safari", pioneered by Fabia and Nicholas at Chem Chem was perfect. Our tent was luxurious but opened onto a wide plain. We really did have...

Thank you Chem Chem for the most excellent stay on the first leg of our holiday. The accommodation is very comfortable and lacks nothing, including the odd sensation of a warm outdoor shower in a short rain fall. Our safari guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Under his guidance we saw much more than might otherwise have been the case....

Definitely unique! Open concept with elevated wooden walkways between buildings. Good location for Tarangire Preserve which had great wildlife viewing. Rooms (permanent tent structures) were spacious and well appointed but bed platform was a bit cumbersome. Evening feeding of the warthogs off dining area was interesting. Had a wonderful sundowner on dry Lake Manyara lakebed. The outside shower was different!

This was a great start to our holiday. Lovely lodge, good food, friendly personal service, great guide and tented bedroom was luxurious. They try to make it an individual experience so evening meals are located in various parts of the site so you cannot see other guests. This lodge works well if you are going to other safari lodges. We...

Chem Chem Safari Lodge was our first Tanzanian stop. On arrival we saw around the outdoor fire pit, Zebra, Warthog, Impala and Monkeys - what a first impression just from the wildlife. The accommodation was nothing short of beautiful, spacious, private and unique. The staff were fabulous, the food was exquisite with beautiful wines to match. The day trips, sundowners,...

Chemchem was a wonderful place to finish our 16 day safari. The atmosphere is more relaxed then other lodges. This lodge does not offer an evening safari nor does it have big game, however this worked for us as we had seen big game at other lodges. We saw wonderful elephant interactions in Tarangire a terrific reserve about 45 minutes...

This is a unique lodge, the tents are amazing with great views, you get to see animals very very close to the room. The rooms have an outside shower perfect for taking a shower at night under the stars. The only reason I don't give the five stars to the lodge is something related not to the lodge but to...
