The Chalet Inn is ion desperate need of a renovation and if not possible, demolition. Like MinMichigan, we too are not "travel snobs" but the Chalet Inn really needs help. The room was clean but the furniture looked like it was picked up at a thrift store. Our TV never worked properly and although the maintenance man came right away, they never fixed the issue. The walls are paper thin so know that you can hear everything going on in the rooms around you including at 5:45 am when workers started working upstairs from us. Sadly, the grounds are littered and it is clear no one is really minding the store.
Huge rooms, some with balcony's. Very clean. Best view of the Smokey's in the am or pm. The place is somewhat dated but to be off the strip and so quiet was amazing! Pool was refreshing and very cool layout. It could use some updates but overall I would not hesitate to stay here again!
I review honestly and we are not “travel snobs”. I am just so dissented I did not take pictures of the issues we found. The bed was comfortable, the location was fine. The trolley picked up,at the end of the street and tho it was running limited lines due to Covid, it was helpful to get around in the heat of the day. Bathroom had broken and chipped tiles. There was a wall heater that was rusted and old. The ceiling trim was not finished and plaster was everywhere. Very odd smell in the hallways. Being a pool and property owner/ manager, we are sympathetic to the work that goes into one. But this pool at the Chalet really needed help. We scooped bugs the whole time we were in it. I can even deal with bugs but floating on top was hair everywhere. The whole pool are just needed a good clean and fresh paint. Maybe some live flowers in the pots. The room(210) was very spacious and we liked having two sinks.…
Was beyond pleased with the property; could tell they took pride in taking care of it. The landscape on the property was beautiful and the views of the surrounding mountains added to it; Was nice to see the wildlife as well. The customer service was impeccable, they were very accommodating and professional; i enjoyed every minute from check-in to checkout. I highly recommend staying at this local hidden gem.
