Rooms are not that nice, needs some updating. They seemed understaffed as they complained about not having rooms cleaned and whatnot. Rooms are really outdated with old comforters and an old Sanyo RCA tube tv. Our ac did not work at all, or at least not well, and was really uncomfortable in the heat. Pool area was about 95 degrees...

We made reservations more than 4 months ago for a 5 night stay at Aspen Lodge in Grand Marais. When we arrived to check in at 4 pm in the afternoon, there was no room made up for us. We were told to go out to dinner and return later. However, after a very long drive, what we were interested...

Basic room with no frills, but good enough for a short overnight stay during our Minnesota waterfall tour. Rooms have basic small fridge. Air conditioners are very old & not very efficient. We ended up opening our windows because it was cooler outside. Beds were comfortable & clean. Did provide a very basic breakfast, toast, bagels, cereal, muffins, coffee, milk...

The Aspen Inn offered affordable lodging however seemed very outdated and unclean. On one occasion I returned to my room with the beds completely stripped. The front desk agent was very unapproachable and seemed to blame all of the problems on the guests. At one point the key to my room was no longer working and she blamed me! If...

Great location on HiWay 61. Clean comfortable rooms, awesome pool and deck, excellent positive staff and a great breakfast. Deserves its high rating. Travelled with 4 grand kids and the extra room was wonderful,

I think the price is a little steep since the rooms are not up to date at all. It was nice to have 3 beds. Just stay away from the reception area rooms. We had the very first room from the front desk and the room was fine it's just the door, right next to our room,to go upstairs/downstairs slammed...

The Aspen Lodge is located in Grand Marais, so it was a short walk to the lake and shops. The room was clean, roomy and the people that worked there were friendly. I was there for a seminar and was surprised to find that we shared our "conference" room with a refrigerator that the staff used to keep the continental...

Rolled in to Grand Marais on a whim and it was the only place with an open room so we had to get the jacuzzi suite, they threw us a discount since everything else was booked up and it was my birthday. Not a bad place to stay, clean rooms, friendly staff.

While this place is clean, & provides a decent continental bkfst, and plenty of hot water, the beds are terrible. The mattresses have likely not been upgraded for ten years and are maybe okay for kids, but for adults, especially a senior or anyone with back problems, they are nearly lethal. The air conditioning units are very loud and ours...

We stay in Grand Marias every few months, and normally stay in a competitor property because of my wife's work. As mentioned in many review this motel could use a re-fresh. It's CLEAN, and that is important to us, having light fixtures from the 90's is not. Staff was VERY helpful, polite, and friendly. I booked us in the wrong...
