Dreamy... stunning, beautiful, peaceful, perfect for the modern camper. John makes an incredible breakfast to order daily. I must admit it was truly the best omelette I've ever had. We stayed in Wolf Den and it was ideal for the whole family. I loved not having a phone but still had wifi but don't take it to breakfast, that time... More

We stayed in the Anglers suite in the main lodge. Rooms are clean and comfortable in fine lodge style. The views are second to none as you watch the sun rise and set from your balcony deck. The room had a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker with a nice selection of your favorite hot beverages. Lots of closet and... More

The Cross River Lodge which we visited a few weeks ago has now become my "happy place" to go back to in my mind. Our serene view right outside our deck from the Angler Room soooo exceeded our expectations with its vast panorama of the sparkling Gunflint Lake with mountains, eagles and breath taking sunrises reflected on the lake. The... More

We just spent our sixth July at Cross River Lodge this year. As always, the accommodations were excellent, the views breathtaking, and the breakfasts amazing! The owners are welcoming and generous with their time. We have met so many people during our stays there, we look forward to seeing our new community of friends every summer. Thanks, John and Rose!

We honeymooned at this location 40 years ago and finally got to go back for 4 days. The lodge and buildings have been rebuilt but the beauty of the lake and surrounding area hadn't changed! John and Rose are gracious hosts and shared with us a wealth of information about the area and history of the Gunflint Trail. We stayed... More

We just got back from here after staying a week and we absolutely loved it. There is so many good things to say about this place and honestly not one bad. First off the owners are the friendliest people you will ever meet. They make it feel like your family to them. The stay includes a home cooked breakfast. (John's... More

We stayed for 4 days & 3 nights in the Cross River Suite. It couldn't have suited us better. Loved it! Everything was spotlessly clean. Not many places can get that comment ! Our suite was laid out nicely and felt restful every time we came in. Now for the breakfasts!! My gosh... what a great cook John is!! The... More

Friendly, courteous, and eager to please owners who excel as hosts. The lodge and our cabin was well maintained and clean in an awesome setting. The breakfast was the best was absolutely delicious. I can't imagine a nicer place to stay on the Gunflint Trail and the is no more gracious host that Rose and her crew. On our most recent visit, we stayed in the Cross River Suite at the lodge and the accommodations were first class as usual. And if the wonderful facilities and staff are not enough, just wait until... More
