My husband surprised me with a weekend of dogsledding and relaxation over Valentine's Day. Dogsledding with Adam was exciting-truly a once in a lifetime experience except that we're hooked. It was frigid but we were too excited to feel the cold. Excellent breakfast and smoked prime rib for dinner. The lodge is cozy and comfortable. It was difficult to get...

Imagine wanting to get back to cross-country skiing after several years. That was our goal for the trip to Gunflint Lodge. We were a bit nervous because of the below-zero temps and the wind, but once we got out on the closest trail with the quality equipment provided by the Lodge, the cold was no problem. We were both pleased...

My family just celebrated my fathers 90th birthday at Gunflint Lodge and it was fantastic! Winter at the lodge is beautiful. Deer come to visit often. The cross-country and skate skiing was excellent the trails are outstanding. I can't say enough about the staff and the food at the lodge, its second to none. My dad was impressed with the...

We were very happy with our stay. There were plenty of activities... Dog sledding, naturalist talks, ski and snowshoe trails... it was also nice to relax in our cabin by reading books by the fire. The staff were very helpful and the food was delicious. The restaurant always had some good Northwoods dishes like walleye and wild rice. No iceberg...

The seven-hour drive from Minneapolis for two nights in a romantic cabin at the Gunflint Lodge was very much worth the time and money. The northland in the wintertime is nothing less than magical. It's still and silent with no mosquitoes and no partying tourists. If you're wondering what to do in the northwoods in the winter, there's more than...

We stayed in one of the rustic lake side cabins, 3 of us in one half of the cabin and 4 in the other half; each half of the cabin was a 2 bedroom cabin with nice living room and fireplace. We had the 2 meals a day package (there is no way we could have eaten three meals a...

This place is worth the drive to get there. The location itself is beautiful and the staff has the right touch with everything they do. We stayed in Cabin 1, which has an outdoor hot tub and an indoor sauna and plenty of space to accommodate a large group. Games are already in the cabin and the Lodge provides free...

This is a trip I won't forget! What a fabulous time me and my wife had. So beautiful there and very accommodating. Made new friends. The owner Bruce was so friendly. I really enjoyed listening to his great stories. We also saw lots of deer around the resort every day and saw some wolves. It was a winter wonderland there!

My husband and I just returned home from our five night stay at the GFL for veterans week. We stayed in cabin 23 which was a one bedroom unit about 75 ft. from the lake. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the entire experience. The food was outstanding and we ate in the Red Paddle restaurant two...

I have been to Gunflint Lodge many times and always look forward to my next visit. We almost always bring our dogs as the hiking is so much fun and is some of the most scenic views, especially in the Fall. Best of all is the dining. The American plan is well worth the price as this is some of...
