rooms are basic but perfectly adequate if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room, (and who does while sight seeing in NYC?) the place feels safe and is reasonably clean. Also very useful o have access to the gym. Good value for money, near to subway stations and not to far to travel to get...

If you are traveling on a budget and don't mind a stripped down experience then this may be a good fit for you. We stayed here in August for 3 nights and I had very little to complain about as I knew more or less what to expect. This is a hostel, if you don't know what that is, research...

First up the Greenpoint YMCA is located quite conveniently in Williamsburg, not far from the subway. We had already stayed in Williamsburg, New York, for 6 nights prior and needed a place to stay for an additional night very short notice to bridge the time until our departure for Washington D.C. which is the only reason why we booked the...

Me and my friend slept well on the beds and they were kind of comfortable to lay on. The shared bathroom was the worst part of the stay. It was uncomfortable and the bathrooms made all the hallways smell of urine. The men's bathroom should have a sliding door that locks when your in the shower like the girls bathroom...

Rooms are pretty ordinary, furniture is decades old and the lobby smells as well. On positive side, rooms are clean and breakfast is free. Also, the prices are comparatively better. Suggestion to customers: Search for rooms through Kayak/Priceline/Expedia, etc., BUT book through calling them. I paid $99/night on booking.com, whereas on-the-spot booking in person/on call was $74/night. Yes, 25% differential!...

The place is very simple but is clean. Even late at night it is very safe. The staff is nice. You get vouchers for an american breakfast in a restaurant quite close. I don t know where they had the pictures of the room from..

Clean room, nice and helpful staff, appropriate price. Because I read review about free breakfast, I asked about that but without success, they told me that because of my type of room i can not obtain voucher for breakfast. But I am not sure, as they offer only one type of room (booked through hostelworld.com).

“During my first stay in this hostel I slept on third floor, and I had to get down to second floor to the bathroom, but the room was really nice and renovated. My second visit in August was on the second floor in the end of the corridor, where the bathroom was more accessible but the wifi does not working (i had to go to the internet room and connect my laptop over there... )”
