As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Wendy and the 2 resident dogs. Wendy registered us and informed us of where to find local tourist attraction information. As a long-time area resident, Wendy also provided us with a wealth of local information and suggestions. She also offered to make any dining reservations for us. The suite (the Loft)...

My husband and I decided to try something new for our 16 year wedding anniversary and we have never been to a B&B, so we did some research and chose Richard Johnston Inn. We were not disappointed at all! We were greeted right away by Bonnie the Innkeeper who gave us a tour of the shared living areas (Dining-room, Sitting-room,...

We had to search for someone to register us upon arrival. The "owner" was not very cordial, but her "greeter" was most pleasant. Our room, "The Loft" in the Richard Johnston Inn was a two floor suite with the bedroom on the upper level. The bedroom television was so low on a table that it was virtually impossible to view...

My husband and I stayed at The 1890 Caroline House (which is under the same ownership as The Richard Johnston Inn AND is across the street / a few buildings down from The Richard Johnston Inn) on December 20th through the 22nd. The Bed and Breakfast was very elegant and meticulous! A definite recommendation for anyone seeking a B &...

On our way to Florida, my husband and I decided to stay in the lovely town of Fredricksburg for the night. We chose the Richard Johnston inn. When we entered the front door we saw lots of children and parents clusterd in the front room, all enjoying a very real looking Santa. Santa and the staff set a very welcoming...

We've wanted to get away, relax and experience the best of historic Fredericksburg. The Inn is lovely and beautifully decorated for the holidays. We stayed in the Isabella Suite which was perfect for us. Bonnie was gracious and prepared wonderful breakfasts. She highly recommended the trolley tour which was a great way to quickly learn some of the details of...

Have stopped here 2 times on recent journeys from New England to Florida. What a great place. Rooms are large and clean, staff are wonderful, and the surrounding area is very enjoyable - quaint shops and restaurants, along with clean streets. Very dog friendly.

The home is beautiful. Wonderfully restored and renovated. The grand foyer and staircase invite you in as soon as you enter the home. You want to look forward to eating at the dining room table, and there is a wonderful private garden. The main suite is luxurious and modern and would make for a wonderful stay for any amount of...

We received a gift certificate from our Daughter & Son-in-law, and made reservations just to use it and get away for a couple nights. I'm glad we did. The inn was built in 1770!! Right in downtown Fredericksburg, which is also very historic. I had no idea that any place had so many standing buildings, still in use, from the...

We stayed at the Richard Johnston Inn for one night during a long weekend getaway in Virginia, and it was definitely worth the trip. Although we stayed there during the first weekend of November, the city was already getting ready for the holidays and the back courtyard of the inn was decorated with lights and garland. Our room was on...
