Hotel's Favourite
I was so pleased with everything about the Hampton Inn & Suites in the Historic District in Savannah. It was so conveniently located. Easy in and out if the city. Close to The Grey and next to the trolley tour companies. But the biggest selling point to the hotel in my opinion is the public spaces. Beautiful lobby and dining room.
Thank you,

This hotel has a superb location, very close to the riverfront stores, restaurants, sightseeing boats, etc. However, to be very frank, it was the least enjoyable of the Hampton Inns we have stayed at. Far from the best Hilton product of this price class. First, the check-in clerk unpleasantly asked me to lower my mask to make sure I was who my credit card and drivers license identified. That has never happened to me before. While the lobby is nice, the rest of the hotel is run down, very badly in need of upgrading or to be blunt, renovation. The room was not very comfortable and the television was poor. The air conditioner was loud. The complimentary limited breakfast was just ok, even as limited by COVID circumstances. Also beware: The hotel offers parking in its own underground garage ($20/day), but it is often full. So the hotel sends you to the Savannah public garage across the street. However, the there is only one entrance and exit to this garage. The only way to pay is the automatic pay station at the exit next to the driver's side, just in front of the exit gate. It frequently malfunctioned, even after payment (gate would not open), requiring the surly attendant to let you out. It happened to us twice and we saw it happen to others a few times. Or, if the attendant was not there, you have to call an off-premises operator. In sum, it's just a well-located place to sleep, but don't expect anything beyond barely ordinary to look forward to after touring beautiful Savannah.

This is my 2nd time staying here & I can honestly say I won’t ever stay anywhere else. The beds are so extremely comfortable, the staff is unbelievably friendly, the breakfast is yummy & the GM Bryan is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, that’s probably why this place is ran so smoothly & you feel like you’re home when you stay here. It’s conveniently located to everything by walking & if you prefer to Uber you can go anywhere in the city for a $5-6 Uber ride!

Since I'm a Hilton Honors member, I stay at Hampton Inn's and other Hilton properties often. This is the third unpleasant stay in a row.
To begin with, the room that I was originally given had an air conditioning unit that was extremely noisy. Since it was late, and there was no one there to repair the unit, I was given a second room...which had not been cleaned. The bed spread was visibly wrinkled, the trash cans had not been emptied, and dirty towels were hanging in the bathroom. With concern about sanitation being what it is, I felt a little uncomfortable.
I was given a third room. I was upgraded to a king suite, which I thought was a nice gesture. Everything seemed fine except that the sink was slow to drain. I reported the problem the next morning before I left the room. I also asked that the room be freshened and the cups be replaced. I also asked for a bathmat since there wasn't one in the room. I was told that the sink would be repaired but that the housekeepers could not come into the room. I was told that my bathmat and cups would be left beside the door in the hall. This was before noon. When I returned to the room after 7 pm, I saw that the sink's stopper mechanism had been removed, and I found no cups or bathmat. I called again and the cups and bathmat were brought up.
You'd think that would be the end of bad events, wouldn't you? When I checked the folio that was sent to my email address before I left, I noticed that the amount I was charged was different from the amount that appeared on my confirmation. The front desk clerk was good enough to correct the error.
Thank goodness, this hotel has a competent front desk staff.

First or all we came to Savannah on a Bluegreen Timeshare deal. Where we got a discount price on the room in agreement to sit through a presentation with Bluegreen. I called a week in advance to tell the hotel that I had 6 people ( myself, my husband and 4 kids) the girl said she would make sure we had a room with double beds and a pullout sofa. We arrive to the room and There is no pullout sofa. I go back downstairs and the manager said that our deal would not allow us to upgrade and the staff member I had talked to was not “authorized “ to do that. I told him I would pay for the upgrade. He would not allow that either. So we had to get another room 500$ unexpectedly. I was livid. The manager was very rude and condescending. The luggage carts are so broken and almost impossible to push. And there is no staff anywhere cleaning and sanitizing. The last night we were there we needed more towels and waiting at the front desk for anyone to come and there was a line of people with no staff to be found. Don’t waist your money !!!! There are too many choices on Savannah!

This Hampton Inn is located within but on the outer fringes of the Savannah historic district. Everyone we encountered that worked there was very friendly and helpful, and we would not hesitate to come here again.
Pros: Everything was very clean and nicely done; the included free breakfast was good, and included cereals, fresh fruit, waffles, eggs, sausage, a variety of breads and juices and of course coffee. They also put out snacks such as cookies or apples in the late afternoon, which was very nice.
Cons: There is no safe in the room. Parking is very tight, especially on the weekend, but they have a neighboring hotel across the street where you can also park. Also, they ask you at check-in when you want your rooms cleaned: daily, on departure, or any other time schedule (such as every other day) - and admittedly some might not view this as a negative as I did.

Appreciated the helpfulness of staff when I had any issues with the room or needed guidance with tours, restaurants, or Uber. For a novice in a new city, Souther charm and hospitality was exuded by staff. I appreciated having Diamond status to reserve a parking spot. Jeffrey, Concierge, recommended using Uber to attend the Georgia Southern University evening concert of the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra for the Holiday Show. So glad I listened to him as it is on the outskirts of Savannah and I didn't have to navigate in the dark in a strange city. Show was spectacular! No problem returning to hotel using Uber. Would stay here again.

In the recent past, the Hampton Inn & Suites in the Historic District of Savannah is one of the nicest facilities we have stayed. It is conveniently located and within walking distances to various venues within the historic district. The Hampton is very well maintained, extremely clean, and nicely decorated. It was a pleasure to stay there.

Paid over $1800 for 2 rooms for 3 nights for the worst hotel for my grandmother and her sisters. When booking I verified with the hotel that they would get joining rooms and was told it would be put in then. Booked through a third party but called the hotel to verify this. They get there and was told they did not have any joining rooms available and nothing they could do about it. Then because of booking through a third party, they refused to give a receipt when checking out. They asked for fresh towels to be delivered daily and trash to be emptied and that was not done. When checking out, trash was overflowing out of all cans. One day they went and came back to no fresh linen so went to desk to ask for towels and was told housekeeping had done left so they were not allowed to get any clean linen to come back in the morning. So morning came and she went to the desk to get towels and was told they keep them at the desk or nearby and should have been able to get clean towels the night before. Then the third party description stated it was a 23.00 parking fee and I called to verify this with the hotel and was told yes, 23.00 per day. They get there and are told it is 30.00 a day! They refused to honor what her paperwork stated. So yes this was by far the worst hotel experience and I hate it because this was supposed to be a special trip for my grandmother and her sisters!

I read with great dismay your comments. First thank you for sharing and we apologize that you experienced what you did. At your convenience please call the hotel directly (best to call between 8am-5pm) and ask for a manager who will be happy to discuss this person to person and see if we might be able to address these items better.

I don’t know.
Parking fee not included. Self park - No valet parking. Hotel property has a small lot adjacent to the hotel. Very limited spaces. Additional parking is available but a block away with easiest access being through the lobby of an Embassy Suites !! However that garage has plenty of covered parking which was great to protect car from Savannah heat
While we do not have a bar on-site we are within walking distance to many, many bars and attractions in the Historic District. So many options to choose from. Feel free to call and speak with our Concierge and he can help recommend some fun locations for you with a happy hour.
Hi Becky,
Yes. The hotel has a concierge can provide more guidance you. My favorite trolley service is Old Town Trolley Tour, you can get a one or two days and hop in and out as needed. You can also add tickets to the museum or places that will interest you. We did this as a family and as a couple and it was a lot of fun. If the concierge is not available, you can get tickets across the street on Rivers street down the stairs.
We also took a Zegwe tour in Tybee, that was fun (only 16 and older). Hope you guys have fun, and Happy Birthday to your daughter 🥳
