We knew heading in that this was not a fancy hotel. The location was a few blocks from the riverfront which was key. But for $155/night plus $7.50 to park in a TINY parking lot, it was nothing to write home about. The two double beds were fine, but there were 4 pillows for 4 people. I guess we are used...

We stayed here for a few days because they are pet friendly. The staff is very accommodating and nice, they call every night to see if there is anything you need help with. It's a retro vibe with 70s style designs. The rooms are small but not uncomfortable. They give you RC cola and moon pies everyday, and serve warm...

An excellent, reasonably priced motel; within easy walking distance of the historic downtown of Savannah,- with all its historic buildings, beautiful parks, downtown restaurants and churches. The hotel offers clean, bright rooms, most at ground level so you can park right in front of it. Great breakfast selection of Krispy Kreme donuts; coffee and popcorn available free

I was a little uncertain when I made my reservation, but the location is in walking distance from The Coastal Georgia Center. When we arrived, the staff gave us a warm welcome. My first impression of our room when I opened the door was how fresh it smelled and how clean it was. There were 2 RC colas on the...

The southern retro atmosphere sets this hotel apart. Very courteous staff. High standard of cleanliness. The air conditioning/heater was brand new and efficient. One of the few hotels I've stayed in that actually relaxed me enough to sleep. Their toiletries line is great. A luxurious experience for excellent price.

We were delighted to book our stay at The Thunderbird as we had driven by it on a previous visit to Savannah. It is walking distance to a craft beer restaurant that we wanted to visit. As pulled into the parking lot, our smiles grew bigger as the Oscar Myer Wiener car was in the parking lot. The night clerk...

We stayed just one night. Close enough to walk to river street. Brought 2 dogs. The woman in the office was extremely nice. Free doughnuts and beverages for breakfast. Moon pie and RC cola in room. Got a good price from a third party website. Would stay again for that price.

Thank you for staying with us. Just so you know, we'll always beat any online rate offered at the hotel from a 3rd party :) Mark

My wife and I stayed one night and we thought it was great. Was with in walking distance to all of the events for St. Patrick's day. Walking to the tours and restaurant's. The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean. The only complete was the water pressure was low. I would stay again.

Thank you for staying with us. It was great weather this year for St. Pats! I'm sorry about the water pressure, we recently upgraded our system and it needed a tweak. regards, Mark Thomas

Pros: It's retro and unique. The staff were extremely friendly and eager to please. It was a blast from the past and was a fun atmosphere. They had whimsical souvenirs for sale in the lobby. It was in good location as a base camp because it was near the tour trolleys, near the Talmadge bridge ramp, right near to a...

Thank you for staying with us. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay overall. We want to give the southern retro of Moonpies, RC cola, and Krispy Kreme because that is out of the norm for most diets. You're on vacation, so we want you to splurge a little :) I look forward to your next visit to the Tbird...

The hotels in Savannah could be super pricey and I did not want to spend tons of money on a hotel (even though they all looked charming and lovely). The Thunderbird Inn had good prices and seemed to be in a good location--but the reviews were so mixed I wasn't sure if I should book or not. But I was...
