Andaz Savannah garners praise for its friendly service and professional staff, with many guests appreciating the personal touches and complimentary amenities. The hotel's cleanliness and eclectic atmosphere, complete with live music, contribute to an inviting stay. Its prime location offers easy access to attractions. However, the perception of value is tarnished by additional fees, and while the rooms are appreciated for their free drinks and snacks, opinions vary on maintenance and decor. Amenities are abundant but sometimes criticized for being dated.

I stayed at the Andaz Savannah my second time and couldn't be happier. During the labor shortages of Covid it is hard to find places that have staff who do not seem fatigued and who hate their jobs. Everyone we encountered at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful.

Checkin and parking:
Checkin was at 4pm and you can pull up to the loading zone outside the entrance. The bellhops are promptly there to assist you and will help your bring bags (don't forget to tip). Valet parking has significantly increased in price to $37/day since my last stay. There is a public parking deck on the same block that is $16/day but is often full. You can also get a visitor pass from the city and park on the street overnight but it is even hard to find street parking on a weekday given how busy the city is with tourists! Given the location is walking distance to most sites, we were lucky to find public parking space and not even need our car for 2 whole days. With that said be prepared to have few options besides valet parking.. You are given a complimentary welcome drink of champagne or beer.

Pet Policy
We brought our two corgis who were welcomed with open arms with lots of pets and complimentary treats from a local bakery. This is one of the few hotels I could find that did not require you to crate your dog in the room if they are left unattended. 2 dogs are allowed with a combined weight of under 75 lbs. Of course they did not weigh our dogs so I think this policy is just to prevent large breeds such as Great Danes/ St Bernards/ etc. You can get cleaning service if your dog stays with you but you need to schedule it the day before and have the pets out of the room or crated.

Amenities
A comfortable bed is extremely important to my hotel stays which is why I love coming here. The mattresses are perfectly firm with a nice pillow top. I usually have trouble sleeping in hotel beds but love their beds here. Pool is open from 10am - 10 pm. Standard rooms have either shower or bath tub but I wanted to be guaranteed a tub so we stayed in a suite that had a soaking tub and walk in shower. Everything was very clean and nice. Since we did not get room cleaning each day you can call the staff anytime for more towels/pillows/toiletries/etc. I believe the restaurant and bar are open until 10pm. Room service was discontinued because of covid, which I thought was silly. It does not really make a difference if you go downstairs and pickup food vs someone bringing it to your door.. That was my only complaint during the stay and it was a very minor one. The food was nothing to write home about and there are amazing restaurants a block away but we really did not want to step out during a tropical storm.

Overall, the Andaz is comfortable, has the best staff, and is in a prime location close to all the good restaurants and sites. It is definitely my spot whenever coming into Savannah!

The Andaz saved us after finding accommodations at another hotel not quite up to par on this trip. The staff was super friendly as we inquired about the property having never stayed at an Andaz before. The room options were great with standard rooms and suites. We took an Andaz Suite offering a small counter area and table along with separate sitting area from the bedroom. It was great for the few times when friends stopped by during our adventures. The room was stylish without being overdone and offered both a shower and tub which is unique for most hotels at this price point. Overall we found the Andaz to be a great mix of comfort and friendly convivence to launch our exploration of Savannah.

We stayed in this hotel March 26- April 3 and enjoyed this stay very much.
we loved that it was only 2-3- min of walk to the river front.
This is how we started our days by walking along the river early in the morning,
watching the boats, saying hi to other walkers and runners
Then, back to the room ( very pretty room) to take the shower ( we loved their bathroom because it was spacious and had everything we possibly needed ).
Then breakfast. This needs a special mentioning because their breakfast was
very delicious, many items to choose from and served very pretty and friendly.
Savannah is very small and one can argue that any hotel in the historic center has great location. But we found this location being very convenient for absolutely everything.
Also their bed and sheets and towels deserve a special mention.
Everything was the superior quality.
We certainly recommend this hotel.

Spent July 4th at the Andaz. First the good: the hotel is in an awesome location. Once you park your car, you are right in the middle of the historic district with everything within walking distance. The hotel charges $37 for valet, but is right beside the Whitaker Parking Garage which is only $5 a day on weekends and has two Tesla chargers. Hotel staff is pleasant, responsive and seemed eager to please.

The Andaz is a boutique type hotel, but the tiles, carpeting (heavily stained in the rooms) and furnishings are overdue for renovation. In the meantime, grout cleaning and carpet cleaning could at least be done to be considered a boutique hotel.

Outdoor open Pool area with patio furniture is lovely, but is locked until 9am and does not allow drinks or coffee in that area. Very limited area inside or out to just chill.

COVID 19 regulations require everyone to wear a mask and the hotel politely enforces this. There are signs indicating social distancing recommendations. However, there are only two checkin windows and only two elevators (no additional service elevator). The lobby area is very small and narrow. One elevator was out of service so elevators were crowded as were stairwells. We planned to stay two nights but left after one night as we were not able to social distance and felt uncomfortable. The manager was very nice and canceled the second night (refundable) without any fuss.

Would not consider staying there again until this covid crisis is over.

We came to town for a funeral. I booked only a few days before the stay. The day I was checking in, your Hyatt website was listing a LOWER rate and your facility would not honor the lower rate. Not only the rate was nearly $500 a night but I paid extra for a kitchenette and there was MINIMAL dishes, no toaster the freezer was FULL with frost-so full there was no room for food. Additionally, there were only two forks, one spoon, one plate, no spatula (can't even flip an egg) no coffee cups, no glasses. I called to the desk and there were going to send these items up and I had to call three times. After an hour, we ended up going out to eat and that was $160 I was not planning to spend. Between the bed and bathroom the carpet strip had the nails coming through the carpet and it cut my foot. Maintenance came to repair. The second day we decided not to get housekeeping but the third day we called down to have someone clean and we were told that housekeeping required a 24 advance notice!?!?!?!? Being an agent, I travel quite a bit and never have I needed to make a reservation for housekeeping services. Over all the entire experience left a very bad taste. The only thing I enjoyed there was the location.

Had a fantastic stay here. The location is perfect - walkable to absolutely everything, very close to Broughton as well as the River walk/River street area. We were able to quickly stop multiple times during the day to drop off bags from shopping, etc.

The staff was wonderful. Very friendly and kind. They went above and beyond at every opportunity they could and made sure we were happy and comfortable. Gave us recommendations and answered all our questions. Free water bottles available in the lobby was also a lovely perk!

The room was very clean and comfortable with contemporary design. Bed was quite comfy as well. Hot water. You can use your phone as your room key on their mobile app which is super handy. Included all the typical shampoo, soap, hair dryer, and makeup mirror, which I always love!

We also had their breakfast one morning and it was delicious! A good variety and reasonably priced.

Would 100% stay here again. Easy checkout on your phone through their mobile app as well.

Upon arrival we find that the room is not ready and is still needing to be cleaned, after several hours of not hearing from the hotel we showed up only to find they overbooked us and would not be able to put us in a room comparable to what we booked. After checking into a smaller room with my family we walked into an overwhelming smell of dog, walking around we found dusty dog hair on all of the surfaces and dried dog pee in the corner of the room. The only saving grace of the hotel was the quick response of the front desk to put us in a different room. To save myself the hassle I will not be staying here again.

Super nice place. All the staff were very sweet and helpful. We liked the location for walking around and looking at all the squares, and historic homes and architecture. We were in a room with a "refrigerator" because we travel full-time and carry some food with us, but this was a wine fridge. Very small and not exactly cold. The bathroom was cool because the lights come on automatically when you enter. (Yes, I am easily amused!) It was very large, with a big tub, and a double sink-I love a big counter! The shower kind of sucked, though. Oddly, there was no top sheet on the bed. That's happened maybe once before, and I find it strange. No free breakfast, but there is a little Keurig in the room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The Andaz is located a block or so from City Market, 1 block from Bay Street and 2 blocks from River Street. So the location allows easy access to all the downtown historic area.

The lobby is unremarkable and the bar / restaurant (22 Square) off of it is also very plain. Breakfast came with our rate and food was good and ordered off the menu. Barbara at the bar was A+.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. We were on the 6th floor and very quiet.

There is a pool area on the second floor that is a nice place to hang out in the summer evenings.

We ate at several restaurants: Barracuda Bob's (average tavern), Pour Larry's (good lunch in City Market), The Pirate House (historic tavern with good food), Churchill's (good British tavern), Better than S*x (not quite but fantastic desserts). Drinks at Moon River Brewery and Pie Society were fun.

Recommend the Orange/ Green Trolley tour and the Prohibition Museum. Skip the river cruise in my opinion.

Parking in the Whitaker Street garage (next door) is ~$16 per day.

Hotel was following all COVID guidelines and felt safe. Not as swanky as some but certainly above average and in a great location.

I absolutely loved my stay at Andaz, and will return next time I visit Savannah. As soon as you walk in, someone is there to open the door for you and the front desk staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect and how it should be for my stay. Beyond the front desk they have a small area where guests can get a variety of snacks, drinks, and alcoholic beverages for free. I ended up going to the hotel bar two nights in a row because of how pleasant an experience it was. The woman working the bar homemade many of the cocktail ingredients like fresh lavender simple syrup and whipped cream. I was impressed by the quality of the drinks and loved making conversation with the bartender, she was great! I highly recommend having a drink at the bar when you visit, it is well worth it. My room was on the 6th floor and had a beautiful view over the city. The location of the hotel is also fantastic. I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go, and never had to Uber or take my car out. My three night stay was wonderful, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a convenient location and receive outstanding service.

All I can say is "LOL". I'm really not sure what that fee is all about other than more revenue for the city or for the hotel? I got a couple of bottles of water at check in - that's about it.

Agree with the other respondents. Surrounding historic area felt quite safe and it is very walkable from the riverfront all the way to Forsyth Park. We were out from early morning for coffee a few blocks from the hotel to just after dusk strolling back from Madison Square and did not feel uneasy walking around those areas.
