This building is over a hundred years old. You must keep that in mind when booking this inn. The staff was very nice, even sending us off with a bag of sweets. They could use a better shower rod in the bath room. Ours was very rusty and the shower curtain had pink mold at the bottom. It would be...

We are glad that the guest enjoyed their stay overall and received excellent service from our staff. I was concerned to learn that you found the room less than clean. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of the inn and take complaints seriously. I personally inspected the shower on your suite and found that the rod is a little rusty...

Beautiful for those who love historic places. Extremely clean with great high ceilings, wood floors, antiques in room. The owners are wonderful and a very restful place to stay. Be advised there are no TV's in the rooms but there is one in the common den.

Great big old room with high ceiling, creaky wooden floors, with modern bath, in room wifi, but TV only in the group room. Cookies waiting in the lobby upon arrival. Delightful place. Dave is a most gracious host, who clearly delights in living away from the big city stresses he dealt with until just a few years ago. Great breakfasts...

The city is a very comfortable place. The Inn was hospitable and very helpful. We would definitely stay there again. The small home town atmosphere and the folksie relationship with staff and other guests was enjo0yable.

Like many others, we stayed here when we came to visit the McDonald Observatory. The owner, David, is very friendly. He let us cancel last fall and gave us a full refund when we had a family emergency, and so we wanted to come back to give him our business. The rooms were clean, quiet, and well kept, and the...

We have stayed at the Veranda on two occasions, both times felt welcome and well taken care of. It is a historic building and so expect that with your stay. For me, that was the fun part! Lots of old world charm and old world problems but nothing to detract from the overall comfort and enjoyment. The hosts were gracious...

We stayed here when we traveled to Fort Davis to attend a star party at the McDonald Observatory. We needed a place for only one night (Friday)and this was the one of the only b&b that did not require a two night stay that I could find. Great place with historic charm & yummy breakfast. Suite 7 was very nice...

The Veranda was a great place to stay on my overnight trip to the Observatory. The place was clean and antique but well kept. The shower head was very low (I'm only 5'8" and I had to bend down to get under) and the bed was harder than I like, but nothing that ruined the stay. Breakfast in the morning...

We stayed at the Veranda for three nights while visiting Fort Davis. The Inn is conveniently located. The staff were friendly and quite helpful. The breakfasts are outstanding, served family-style. We met friendly people whom we encountered at other stops on our vacation. Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. I had a minor injury while hiking, and they gave...

I especially liked that the innkeeper served an early breakfast for the racers. The hotel is really comfortable and clean. Much if the hotel was original-looking. It was a real Texas experience . I would be happy to stay there again, and I would have given all 5's if the decor were upgraded a little
