Be sure to book early and request an original CCC room, although all of the lodeg's room are very spacious. No mini bar / refrig (who cares), comfortable beds, very nice Texas park service staff, including naturalist /historian whose two lectures we sat through. The lodge public rooms are architectural delights.

Tucked away in the spectacular, this lodge features breathtaking views, clean and comfortable rooms, and stunning architecture. Built during the depression by the CCC, the thick adobe walls, Pueblo revival structure, and the quirky mission style furniture feel much more like a Santa Fe resort than a West Texas locale. The ideal location offers a great headquarters for numerous day...

The Indian Lodge is a great place to stay. Our room was large and comfortable. The furniture is gorgeous, and there are lots of outside areas to relax. The surroundings are breathtaking, and the staff is welcoming. I couldn't give it a higher rating because of the lack of available WIFI. They only offer it in the lounge, and it...

If you are looking to disengage from the "busy" lifestyles so many of us live, this is a great refuge. Whether camping or choosing to stay in the Indian Lodge at Davis State Park you will not be disappointed. The Indian Lodge was surprisingly nice. We stayed in Room #123 for one night. We went to the McDonald Observatory Star...

My parents would stay at Indian Lodge when they picked me up from Girl Scout Camp nearby. 50 years later, this Adobe building has lovely quiet rooms with lovely views. Dinner was prepared by an excellent chef. It is owned by the Texas State Parks and service is wonderful.

This lodge is really wonderful by its nature and is architecture, both outside and inside. (see my pictures). It is really original and outstanding. Plus Davis Mountains State Park is a fabulous place to visit with its worderful nature. However, the reason I don't give a perfect score is that there are not as many amenities as in other hôtels....

Thus place is a quaint piece of history. The rooms are very comfortable, the pool is refreshing, the location in the mountains and midway between the observatory and Ft Davis is ideal. We enjoyed our stay here. The only down sides are the restaurant was only fair and the place is run by the state park, not a company, so...

Indian Lodge is a beautiful place to stay in the Fort Davis area. Your booking includes entry to the state park, something that other TX State Parks charge you extra for. From Indian Lodge you are only a 5 minute drive to the town of Fort Davis and about a 15-20 minute drive to the McDonald Observatory, which you can...

This is a fantastic place to stay if you want to see the stars at night. Just walk outside or drive up the road to the McDonald Observatory for a Star Party on Tuesdays, Fridays or Saturdays evenings. The rooms are clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. I would have given them an excellent rating except for the restaurant where the...

Indian Lodge was a real surprise. It was located with a view of the Davis Mountains in a very nice park with camping, hiking and driving tours close to McDonald Observatory. The hotel was pristine. It was built by the CCC in 1930 and maintained very well. The pool, restaurant and grounds were most excellent. The park personnel as well...
