On our first trip to Astoria, I wanted to stay at a nice hotel with some character and not necessarily a chain hotel so we chose the Astoria Riverwalk Inn. I don't mean to disparage the place, but first of all, it's not an inn or hotel - it's a motel. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's...

We stayed here 1 night in a large room with a balcony which overlooked the marina & Port which was amazing especially at night when all the lights came on. We also had a great view of Astoria bridge from our balcony. The bathroom had everything we needed plus iron & ironing board. Also coffee maker. A king bed. The...

Thank you for the gracious and helpful review! Our new ownership group has been managing the hotel for just over a year now and has been working hard on making improvements and updates from the onset. We recently completed two beautiful model rooms and four historical theme rooms and are constantly reassessing our breakfast and other amenities offered our guests....

On a road trip, every day at lunch we select a hotel down the road for the night. Picked this one sight on scene. We were very pleased. Friendly desk people, clean room and nice view. It is old, room a bit run down but most important was clean. Morning breakfast was just so so.

Another couple and My wife and I booked this hotel so we could explore Astoria and attend the Beer Festival the weekend of Sep24th 2016. We decided to book two theme rooms - "The Cannery" and "The Boat Yard". Both rooms were very clean, had good linens and comfortable beds. The view from the room deck was amazing and the...

This hotel was nice. The front desk was helpful and friendly. Our room had a balcony that looked out over the river. The rooms had no air conditioning, which would have been ok if there had been screens on the windows to keep out the bugs. We opened up a small window next to the slider and placed a box...

This hotel is very over rated by most. Very run down old hotel. Basic breakfast. Very over priced for what I would consider a one star. Interior room needs a full Reno. Very disappointed !!! Caution unless you like to pay a five star price for a one star hotel. Nasty hotel!!!

Fabulous views of the bridge and the boats from the room. Comfortable bed. Complimentary breakfast and refreshments in the "common room" behind the front desk area. Very friendly staff. Each room has a balcony overlooking the boats. Paper/plastic cups in the room - but maybe that's a harbor regulation? Shower was good with only minor temperature fluctuations. Very friendly staff....

We really enjoyed our night at the Astoria Riverwalk Inn and, in general, in Astoria. The hotel appeared a bit motel-like from the front. Never mind. This was an hour walk along the Columbia River while the Holland America Cruise Ship Oosterdam was in port. To get into town you would need to find some transportation, and there is a fair bit that comes to the dock.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally opened as the Red Lion – Thunderbird Motor Inn and later simply as the Red Lion, the Astoria Riverwalk Inn was the town’s first waterfront hotel, established in the late 1960s. The Port of Astoria owns the facility, and in September 2015 contracted with new local ownership to assume and improve the Riverwalk Inn operations. The new ownership group is comprised of seasoned business management professionals with significant experience in commercial property development and hospitality, including the development and initial launch of the award-winning Hotel Elliott in downtown Astoria. With a new operating team in place since September 2015, literally everything is new at the Astoria Riverwalk Inn. From the luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, redesigned dining area and lobby adorned with local, original artwork; the addition of a continental breakfast; extensive landscaping and general updates throughout (including lots of fresh paint!), guests will gain a sense of renewed care and attention to detail. Other complimentary amenities include a business center just off the lobby, upgraded high-speed Wi-Fi, a DVD library and “Beach Cruiser” bikes for exploring Astoria’s acclaimed four-mile long Riverwalk. We think you’ll find changes to the Astoria Riverwalk Inn create an inviting atmosphere for a restful stay on the waterfront. We hope to see you soon! ... more   less
