A simply wonderful place in Astoria, just a few steps from River Walk, blocks from several breweries, bars & great dining spots. The entire hotel is clean, contemporary, and minimalist, yet it is a VERY warm & friendly space. Shared bathrooms were cleaned regularly and were always pristine. Rooms were small, but tidy & space is used efficiently - not...

My girlfriend and I recently stayed in a small room on the third floor on a Saturday night here. First of all we had a great time and really loved the place it was great for a short stay. Some of the things we liked were the amazingly prompt and friendly service staff, the perfect execution of remodeling an old...

Another great low cost place to stay. Minimalist decor in a historic building. Clean simple and comfortable. Not for every one with the shared rest rooms and showers. Good food in the Street 14 cafe down stairs. Right in the center of town and easy walking distance to everything.

We stayed in one of the cabin rooms with the bathroom down the hall. The room was small but the bed was good and everything was clean and new looking. The staff was very friendly. We were impressed that they made a cup of individual drip coffee for you in the morning. That feature and the low price will bring...

Great small hotel in the centre of Astoria with great character. It has a awesome coffee shop linked to it on the ground floor. Room was clean and well laid out. Some rooms had shared bathrooms which one of my buddies stayed in, he said they were very clean and well kept. If anyone was doing the same as us...

I stayed here in one of the suites (private bathroom vs. hostel-style shared). This hotel was very cute and comfortable, and reminded me of the Ace in portland and Seattle. The room didn't have a lot of amenities (no blowdryer, lotion, etc.) or a fridge. The front desk was very friendly, and offered us a free beer for happy hour...

Thank you for the kind words! I just wanted to let you know that we do have hair dryers, fans, and toiletries behind the front desk. The host is always happy to run them to your room any time day or night! See you again soon!

This hotel was restored nicely in a minimalist way, quite nicely. But NO amenities. No coffee in room, no blow dryer, no shower cap. Wi-fi is great, front desk is there 24 hours so you can arrive anytime. No parking, except on street two hour spots. There are robes and great beds, but be careful not all rooms have Windows...

I want to thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. However, since the point of reviews such as these is to provide information to fellow travelers I have to point out there are quite a few inaccuracies in yours. While we do not have coffee in room, we do have tea and coffee available in the...

We spent two nights at the Commodore Hotel and really enjoyed our stay at this boutique hotel. Rooms are great and the service was outstanding. We really enjoyed the evening wine and beer tasting in the hotel lobby as we had the opportunity to meet the hotel manager and his family.

As a last minute arrival to Astoria, I was more than delighted when the manager was able to accommodate my request for a room for one night at an affordable price. It was small but comfortable. There was just enough room for a single or couple. The room was spotless and included a sink,TV/DVD player, good quality linens and pillows,...

Whoever turned this building into a hotel cared deeply about the quality of the work, which shows in the woodwork, the tile work, you name it. The coffee shop connected to the lobby area was excellent for breakfast, and the staff in the hotel and the coffee shop were fine. All that said, the cabin room was stuffy, stuffy, stuffy,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the heart of the Astoria Downtown Historic District, the Commodore Hotel occupies the 1925 Lewis Building, designed by John E. Wicks, Astoria's most influential architect. The hotel operated from 1925 until 1968, first as the Barton Inn Hotel and then as the Commodore. Shuttered for 40 years, the Commodore reopened in 2009 after an extraordinary renovation. Retaining the original doors, windows, woodwork, and fixtures-all meticulously rehabilitated-the Commodore is now a shining example of the highest standards of contemporary design and construction. The Commodore shares the historic Lewis Building with the legendary Street 14 Coffee, which you can enter directly from the lobby. Downtown Astoria is overflowing with sensory delights-dining, shopping, hiking and more are at your fingertips. Take a romantic stroll along the scenic Riverwalk. Take a ride on the Riverfront Trolley. Take a swim at the Aquatic Center. As our guest, you have access to a curated selection of films available on DVD from the front desk. Watch Goonies in the town where it was filmed. Spend a blustery night curled up with Chinatown or Magnolia. Put together a personal film festival by choosing from over 100 available titles ranging from 3 Days of the Condor to The X-Files. The Commodore understands the importance of sustainable and Earth-friendly business practices. We recycle-and we encourage our guests to do the same-and the hotel is kept sparkling with eco-safe cleaning products. Our commitment to sustainability is recognized by the Travel Oregon Forever Network. Free parking is readily available within a few blocks. Short-term street parking in front of the hotel is usually an option for check-in. The front desk can guide you to long-term parking near the hotel. ... more   less
