Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Benjamin Young Inn, from when we first met our host, Carolyn, to our final breakfast in the elegant dining room. The Inn is situated on a hill, just a block off the main road into town, with a beautiful row of mature "plane" trees, and a garden-surrounded porch that give the Inn a very...

What a lovely Victorian home - wonderfully preserved and so comfortable. We loved learning about the history of the home. Carolyn was the perfect hostess/owner. Great Breakfast and she sat down with us and gave us tips on where to eat and what to see. We so enjoyed her company. Our room and bed were super comfortable and there was...

My friend and I stayed for 2 nights in the Dorothy room, it was very clean and comfortable. Carolyn is an excellent hostess, she has much knowledge of the area and its history. Breakfast was very good, and the other guests were entertaining. We will go back again!

The first thing to greet you upon arrival (besides the gorgeous Victorian exterior), is Carolyn, the hotel's owner. As stated in previous reviews, she's a gracious hostess and knowledgeable regarding the building's history. She makes a wonderful breakfast is an overall very hospitable and kind lady. My parents and I stayed in the Dorothy room, which would have had an...

A beautiful Victorian built in 1888 with a very nice and interesting innkeeper. We were in the Rose Room and had a comfortable bed, a nice view of the Columbia River and slept well even as the "seal chorus" was going strong! It was our anniversary and our daughters called ahead to ask her to provide wine & cheese for...

Yes, there is a musty smell in the entry hall. I did not notice it in our room, though. Carolyn is a gracious hostess. Breakfast was good. The room was very large. The bed was comfortable. We stayed 4 nights while visiting family, and this was a convenient and comfortable alternative to a hotel.

We stayed here at the start of our trip down the coast and were glad we chose it. Carolyn Hammer is a gracious host, and her place is well cared for and comfortable. Very historic, too. We went off season and she gave us two nights with a slight price break on the second. Her family was here, and she...

My husband and I wound up being the only ones at the Benjamin Young for the night on New Years Day and got to enjoy the quiet peace and serenity of such a beautiful and historic old home. The holiday season is a great time to come to Astoria due to the low tourism volume. We enjoyed sitting in the...

My son and I stayed at the Benjamin Young Inn recently. Our stay there was definitely a highlight of our trip to Astoria. The house is a very well maintained and authentic Victorian with lots of character and charm. The rooms are very bright, spacious and comfortable. The best part of the experience was the generous hospitality of Caroline, the...
