We have stayed several times and stayed in General Merritts suite a few times which is in the original part of the house. Last two times we stayed in Anna's garden a beautiful room in the new addition, was very convenient with our dogs because has a door that opens right out into the yard. Loved both rooms. So clean and all amenities. So much history in the house and barn and grounds. Love it there.

My wife and I just spent two nights at the BB&BI. What a treat. Room was great and the breakfasts were even better. Felt more comfortable than home. Lots of history to experience without even leaving the inn. We even had fun hiking around and exploring the property. The staff/owners also went out of their way to make sure we were happy. The chef even took time to share her french toast recipe. The history programs each morning were the best part; we really got an interesting perspective of the battle, but also the inside story of the people. Will definitely return.

This Bed and Breakfast is by far the best I have ever experienced! The historic information was great. Being personally greeted and oriented to the room and all the numerous public areas (sitting rooms, solarium, dog park, barnyard) I brought my granddaughter to Gettysburg for her 13th birthday and our room was perfect with a little side bedroom area for her for privacy. Breakfast was great. The hosts and the staff were all personable and asked many questions so they were sure we were getting the service we needed. (special dietary needs) The best however was the dog friendly spot! This was not a cursory 'dog friendly' spot, they LIKE and encourage guests with dogs and even have a large double fenced dog park which my little guy enjoyed all to himself. Defintitely recommend this to anyone, couples, families, individuals.

A charming authentic historic location, gracious and friendly hosts, Florence and JD, fabulous breakfasts, and the very special addition of morning history presentations of stellar caliber made our stay at the Battlefield Bed and Breakfast exceptional. Special mention to historians Mike Vice and Steve Gunlock, whose presentations were so enlightening. Steve brought many artifacts for us to see up close and handle and explained not only about the battle, but put it in the larger context of what the country was going through at the time and how the war affected American society. Just an exceptional presentation! On a lighter note, one evening we also enjoyed Lance Windish's ghost stories at the firepit outside. Not being particularly interested in all the ghost tours in Gettysburg, we feared this might be a little hokey, But no, Lance is very entertaining, and it was a fun, interesting evening. We stayed in the Tack Room in the barn and found our "neigh"-bors, Burberry and Pudding, quiet and friendly. Fun to feed them baby carrots! The staff resolved a small issue with the room quickly and we were very comfortable during our stay. Only regret is that we didn't bring the dog. Next time!

I found this hidden gem on the internet and booked a weekend for my husband & I. The Innkeepers were very welcoming, gracious and informative. Our room (The March-Wolfe Suite, which was named after a unit that fought on the property) was very clean & cozy with its own entrance to the back patio, complete with a fireplace and comfy seating. There, we relaxed from our day of touring Gettysburg and sipped wine and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. In the morning we were treated to a deliciously fresh gourmet breakfast! After breakfast we were invited to listen to Gerry Eak, a civil war historian with a unique perspective on the war. He discussed the heroism of the women & children who's homes ultimately became hospitals and how they treated the overwhelming injuries during the war. Overall, a wonderful weekend and I highly recommend staying here!
