I spent Labor Day weekend at the Castle B&B. It was very relaxing and quiet. This registered historic site has been carefully upgraded and maintained to preserve its original splendor. The owners have gathered many interesting and beautiful things to create the atmosphere of a wealthy turn of the century private home. The rooms are light-filled and comfortable. I was... More

Nice house with large clean room/ bathroom. We had an en suite but there are some shared bathrooms. Breakfast is self serve cereal fruit and pastries. Location is Okay on a fairly quiet street quick access to downtown and other parts of city by car, and there was never a problem finding parking on the street right in front. Host... More

My friend and I recently stayed here for five nights. We had a fantastic time and would most definitely stay here if we find ourselves in Philly again. We were in the Sewing Room because we wanted our own beds and it was perfect for us. Big windows for plenty of sunlight, ample closet space and room to move around... More

I stayed here during the Philly Flower Show. I had visited the flower show the previous year and stayed elsewhere. It wasn't a great experience and I visited 2 other "runner up" bed and breakfasts to assess them for this year, including the castle. I think the castle's website doesn't do them any favors, the pictures are old and outdated... More

Came here for an exam with my significant other, and probably would stay somewhere else next time. The owner is nice, although a bit chatty, which would probably be nice with other people, but I needed to study; otherwise, the owner is pretty helpful and nice. My main complaint was with the odor of the house- it smells moldy and... More

For the past four years while our daughter was at the UPenn, me and my husband stayed many times, at least twice a year, at the B&B and since the very first time, Ellie and Nick, the owners, made us feel at home. They were always there, either to help us finding our way to get to places in Philadelphia... More

This Bed & Breakfast is a wonderful little gem not too far away (it is close to two trolley stations) from the universities. The rooms are very nice and well equipped with TV and Wireless Internet. Breakfast is continental and self-service in the morning, however I have to say this was always a very nice breakfast with a lot of... More

“If you do want a hot breakfast or lunch or dinner, try the Gold Standard Cafe up by the 34 trolley stop. Great cafe, good menu variety and great coffee.”
