My husband and I stayed at the Alexander Inn for one night. We booked a room with a queen bed, but upon checking in we were pleasantly surprised that we had been upgraded to a room with a king bed. The room was small, but beautifully appointed and clean. The bathroom was small, but not a problem. We enjoyed a...

I loved this hotel. Situated centrally in the heart of the Gayborhood (aka Wash West), I was charmed instantly and felt it had historic, old-world character with a welcoming fireplace and cozy lobby area (where a respectable continental breakfast was served). I thought the fact that they had drinks and a few snacks available day-round a very civilized touch. The...

I liked the position, few steps far from the city center. Both the room and the restroom were big and clean and the bed was comfortable Moreover there was free fruits coffee and tea always available for the guests and a gym we didn't use. However, the breakfast was poor and the room wasn't enough warm so we had to...

I just returned from a lovely three night stay at the Alexander Inn. The room and the lobby were cosy, and the location was perfect! The hotel has several nice touches, including fruit and tea in the lobby at all hours, and a fireplace in the lobby for cold evenings. Most significantly, the hotel staff was extremely friendly and welcoming,...

This hotel is a nice place to use for a visit to Philadelphia. It is convenient to many of the historical attractions and museums as well as restaurants. The rooms are small, but the beds and furniture are in good shape. I took off a point on this rating for the cleaning staff. They did not do a good job...

This will continue to be my go-to place in Center City. It's easy to get to and well-located for outings on foot. The "pocket-size" room was as boutique as could be. Absolutely no complaints. They've added Continental breakfast (fairly generic) since last time I stayed here; there's also "Toast" (café) right across the street.

My husband and I traditionally visit Philly in December to visit the Christmas village and and walk around the city and eat/drink. We usually only go in for the day. This year we decided to stay the night and chose the Alexander Inn! So happy with our choice! The room was perfect with a view of the Liberty Place buildings....

I revisited this hotel for, what?, perhaps the fifth time. It is still excellent: courteous staff, well maintained and equipped, great location, and above all, a ratio of value-for-the-dollar that is, I think, impossible to beat in downtown Philadelphia. Because it's in a vibrant neighborhood, expect some noise from outside as late as 2, 3, 4 a.m. But hey, that's...

I stayed 2 nights while attending a convention. I had one of the twin rooms, which was perfect for one. The front desk staff was always pleasant. The continental breakfast was a nice touch. The staff kept the area nicely stock with breakfast items. The gentleman during the week was great, while the older gentleman on the weekend was a...
