Loved this hotel! I stayed here in February with my other half for a couple of nights and it was a truly pleasant stay. The room was cosy and clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff were very friendly and approachable. The location was perfect for exploring the city and seeing all the sights. Would stay here again in...

We stayed here for four nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and assisted with restaurant suggestions and travel arrangements. The room was well appointed, clean and had a great view. Thank you John for your hospitality. Hope to be back soon.

Our room was small but lovely with a very comfortable bed and good shower. The continental breakfast in the room off the lobby had cereals, good coffee and OJ with all sorts of muffins, pastries and breads. And we were within walking distance of Chris's Jazz Cafe and the Kimmel Center where we heard the Phildelphia Orchestra. The garage was...

Loved the Alexander. I originally chose it because they are one of the few hotels anywhere that have medium firm beds--not the plush, mushy stuff that has become the norm, and that my back can't tolerate. But, beyond the bed, the staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. When they were full, they actually called me to let me...

Just checked in. Beside the fact that it is a tiny room (120sqft), it has a bad smell and I hear my neighbors talking. But the real joke is that it is $135/night and $20 for parking. I feel kind of stupid that I made a reservation here. Usually I do my homework. I guess, for $135 I thought, I...

Really?? We were blown out of the water on this one! We are having a hard time justifying a $135.00 room rate and 40% discounted parking in Center City as "screwing" a guest. Note that we post each room type's square footage on our website as "full transparency" on cozy sizes of our rooms in this century plus aged building....

We very much enjoyed our stay at Alexander Inn. Once we figured out the parking situation everything was fine. My one tip to guests is to understand the parking situation before arriving in Philadelphia. There is no private hotel lot or street parking for the hotel - you must park 2 blocks away in a public garage. Also, there is...

Thank you for writing a review of our Inn. So glad you enjoyed your stay. There is a 20 minute loading zone on 12th St across from the hotel to load or unload your luggage and our arrangement with the garage is the best in Center City $20.00 for 24 hours vs $50.00 at other downtown hotels. Hope to see...

Stayed at the Alexander Inn for 4 nights instead of the two planned originally. Rang the Hotel at 8 pm to let them know we were delayed and Andrew said we did not have a booking. We should have arrived on the Sunday, we had got our dates mixed up. Andrew was brilliant when we arrived at the Hotel at...

I started staying here in 2004. It is a small, boutique hotel, reasonably priced, and perfectly located at the corner of Spruce and 12th for walking to Independence Hall, City Hall, and a little further to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Barnes Foundation, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. There are excellent restaurants right outside the hotel. Be prepared...

Alexander Inn is in a great central location in Philadelphia, allowing one to walk most anywhere. It is a bit of a nuisance having to park the car 2 blocks away, but once parked, we never used it until we left the city. Helpful staff, clean rooms, and decent American breakfast.

Thank you for writing a review. So glad you enjoyed your stay with us. The parking facility we use is 2 blocks away but is also the most reasonably priced for downtown Philly. $20. for 24 hours verses other hotels charging upwards of $50-$60. Again, thanks for writing and hope to see you again soon. Tony Lombardo

Stopped with my family for a couple days and got 2 rooms in Alexander Inn. While the first room was good, the second one had a very string bleach smell and stains on the lights by the bed, so it can't get more than average for these reasons. Other than that, the hotel is charming and staff is nice. Location...
