Although I live in the area, my family and I wanted to be closer to the attractions.Stayed in this hotel which boasted class and old world charm. Walking distance to scenic tour buses, great restaurants and Penns Landing. All the historic landmarks are close by also from the Liberty Bell to Independence Hall. Check out the bar at the hotel...

We recently stayed two nights to attend a wedding. Excellent location for old Philadelphia touring! Easy walking to many historic sites and great restaurants nearby. A bit pricey with taxes and parking but a nice splurge!

I grew up in the hotel business and spent most of my professional career in the lodging industry. Result: I nit-pick and examine every square inch of every hotel that I stay in! (Drives my wife a bit crazy...) I stayed at the Franklin Hotel (I had business at the nearby Custom House federal building) and noted the following... First...

Great location near sites in Old City, restaurants and public transportation. The rooms are large and clean, although decor looks a little dated. Our issue was the lack of hot water. Unclear if this was just our room or hotel-wide. Plenty of hot water in the sink, but only a trickle of lukewarmish water in the shower. Called front desk...

Sorry to hear of your experience with the water in your shower. Sometimes the knob needs to be turned past the H for hot. Engineering does check this especially when there is hot water in the sink. I apologize we didn't find this flaw in the room before you had to report it.

This hotel has a great location! It is one of the closest hotels to all of the historic sites including Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The rooms are quite spacious and have a wonderful view! The bathrooms are a little outdated and I do agree with others that for the price of the hotel, they should update the bathrooms....

This is a pleasant hotel in the center of the city, very close to Independence Hall. The room is a good size, the bed is comfortable and bathroom is adequate. The hallways are bit dark and the overall impression is that it could use some updating, but for a one-night business trip it was totally fine. The staff was friendly...

Stayed at this hotel, now is part of Renaissance hotel chain, for three nights. The hotel building is old, so the room has different shape (not a box) which is perfectly fine with me. The location is central, close to Independence Hall, the Bell and other tourist attractions. The service for the breakfast seems a bit of hit and miss....

The location is great; a few minutes from Independence Hall and other main historical attractions. Really within in minutes: only one to two short blocks. The hotel is dated in the rooms and common areas. Needs major updating. Even so, I recommend the hotel because of its location and staff. We had a suite with a pull out sofa at...

Hotel was very pretty and set in ideal location. Bar stays open late. Got back after wedding (after 1AM) and bar was still open when I went up to room @ 2AM. Had a concerning issue with room key that front desk staff seemed very indifferent about. Early Saturday morning, while still in bed (~7:30AM) door was opened without a...

I have stayed in many of the downtown hotels as I travel to Philadelphia frequently. I was looking forward to trying this one. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. The lobby was nice, but the rooms are outdated. It was probably very elegant in 1990, but nothing has been upgraded since. There are wall phones in the bathroom. Also, they had...
