Internet booking proved difficult and confusing. There is not enough detail about the different types of studio and bedrooms. I wanted accommodation on a high floor with a good outlook and balcony but could not find a way of getting this. A telephone call did not help and I had to apply to become a preferred guest to get a...

Great spot for a family. Super pet friendly. We've stayed many times but mostly renting privately. This recent trip we booked through SPG directly. Highlights - Exceptional staff. Much appreciation to the woman who checked us in (sorry I can't recall your name). She helped us with a great room and it made our stay AND will keep us coming...

I expected a typical Westin hotel but was disappointed as soon as we drove up not enough staff to help unload our luggage took 30mins waiting. Reception was quick. Room was ok but small for a 2 bedroom suite. The bedrooms were good but the living room was way too small.Nice full kitchen and dining table for six. Before we...

Family ski trip, kids first time skiing. Pros - Great location, easy to reach the gondola and village shops and restaurants. But there are 5 flights of stairs out of the hotel - Mammoth is a great place for kids to learn to ski and great ski location - Coffee in the morning, hot chocolate in the afternoon and champagne...

This hotel is by far the most convenient and practical way of going on a ski trip, especially with family and kids. It is located in front of the gondola station which takes you directly to the chair lifts in canyon lodge. Good part is that the gondola station stores your ski equipment for free if you stay at the...

This is hotel food, nothing more. The decor is nicely done. The booths are comfortable. There's a nice little bar area. I ordered the salmon. It was too large and the barbecue sauce didn't complement the fish. The service was okay. If you don't have dinner reservations somewhere else, this will do.

We got lucky and booked this place with little to go on from Australia. But it was everything we needed and then some. The first night and day was a blizzard but we were safe and warm in our well-sized studio room with gas fireplace. An unexpected bonus was the undercover parking - no digging out our rental car! When...

This hotel offered the perfect balance of luxury, convenience and service. You are an elevator and the gandola ride away from getting on the slopes. The free hot chocolate and champagne was nice little plus. The valet guys and bellmen were very attentive and on point. The morning of our departure, a blizzard arrived and I called the valet guys...

What was great about this hotel: 1) In-room gas fireplace is very cozy and romantic 2) Well-stocked kitchenette makes breakfast and snacks quick and easy 3) All the staff we encountered, especially Cog and Kaitlyn, took great care of us 4) Close to the Village (great dining and shopping options) 5) Totally quiet - could not hear neighboring rooms 6)...

We have stayed previously at the Monache and came back for some more skiing given the great season this year. We have privileges with Starwood, which makes this an easy choice, as we like the service level and comfort of this hotel group. This particular Westin hotel is starting to show its age, though. We had two rooms for the...
