This place really is something else! De luxe it isn't, but unique and quirky it certainly is. Perfect location for visiting Death Vally National Park. Its imperfections are more than tolerable because of the history and location, in fact they make the place what it is. A tour of the opera house is a must, and you can ask to...

I wish we had known of this place in advance--would have loved to see a show. The story of the woman who founded the theatre is just fascinating and beautiful. As it were, we took some really beatiful photos and plan to return one day. I believe Marta Becket did the artwork on the theatre doors.

This place is amazing! The rooms are dated but comfortable but who cares when you have the total kitsch factor. You must arrange a tour of the opera house it is so amazing it would be a crime to visit here and not see it. The staff we dealt with were really very lovely and friendly. We just loved it...

We were driving into Death Valley National Park from the Tecopa Hot Springs when we saw a folding sidewalk sign along the highway advertising a ballet that night. We went in to learn about it and they said that it would be OK to dry camp across the street in our RV. That night, we were privileged to view a...

We stopped here on the way to Death Valley. We had a great breakfast in the cafe and were made so welcome, would recommend it to anyone travelling nearby. They are a non profit organisation, putting everything back into the business of renovating the Opera house.

Awesome place to stay while visiting Death Valley, located right at it's entrance. It has great atmosphere of previous years, and the staff (very friendly and helpful) will gladly give you a little tour of old opera house, attached to the motel. It is pretty basic, but each room is different and original, and all in all comfortable. The kitchen...

A very good place to fell Death valley, its history... The place seems old at the very first glimpse, but it tells a nice story of dance, life... and death. Very good and warm welcoming. Rooms are comfortable even if ar conditionning is noisy. Good shared kitchen and dining room (think to bring food, no many to buy there) but...

My buddy and I went on a roadtrip from Vegas to SF and decided to go through the Death Valley. After an initial search we immediately decided to stay at Amargosa. It had all the ingredients: On our route, different, historical and haunted ;) I have to say that it lived up to all the expectations! We liked that its...
