Stayed with Tony and Julie at Battiste Bed-Breakfast and Birds. We timed our visit for the coveted Elf Owl experience, and it was over-the-top-GREAT! Tony has the Elf Owl experience down to a science, it was almost like a Broadway show- he told us exactly what would happen and when. I'm not a serious birder (my wife is) but I...

We have stayed with Tony and Julie Battiste twice, the first visit in the Casita and the second in the Owl's Roost. In either, you get your own apartment with all you need to prepare your own meals. Julie provides breakfast fixings including cereal, muffins, baked goods, coffee -- the baked goods are a treat. Tony is an excellent birder...

We spent 2 nights here. The hosts were very welcoming, Julie provided baking both days. The accommodation was very comfortable. The idea of providing food for breakfast was great as it gave us flexibility on when we ate. Julie even lent us her tea kettle when she discovered I was a tea drinker. It was so much nicer to make...

Julie Battiste is a friendly, welcoming hostess, always ready to help. Tony was away while we were there, but Julie was super helpful when I asked her about places to bird. She suggested Fort Huachuca and called Tony for details. She then put me on the phone with him to get directions for exact locations within Fort Huachuca that he...

If you are looking for a very nice place to stay when you visit the Sierra Vista area then Battiste's B & B is just the place. Tony and his wife Julie are very gracious hosts. The rooms are very well done and spacious. There is a full size bath and a kitchen with a frig. and micro wave. There...

We recently made a Mother’s Day trip to Battiste’s, which we had wanted to do for awhile, and it did not disappoint. Nestled in the Huachuca Mountains of southern Arizona, the specialty of the house is the Elf Owl, although the species abound, since it sits in a major migratory path. We saw 30 different species in 2 days time....

My wife & I and 2 friends spent 3 days at Tony & Julie's place. Firstly the accommodation is great, up the hill off the highway so it is quiet but easy to find and convenient for getting places. There is a large separate casita with a queen bed and couch that converts to beds. It would be OK for...

What a fantastic place to stay while bird watching in Arizona. Tony and Julie could not have been more welcoming for the entire stay. You feel like you are at home with them. The two bedroom in-house unit was absolutely perfect for so many uses. The kitchenette with fridge was great and a nice small private den for relaxing at...

If you are a birder, you need to visit southern Arizona. And if you visit southern Arizona for birds, you need to stay with Tony and Julie. Tony is a professional birder and guide who can tell you where to go to see whatever bird you want. He has created a bird heaven in his back yard where you can...

My family of five spent a week at Battiste's B B & B. The accommodations were very comfortable but it is the hosts and birds that truly make this place one of a kind. I felt like I was in an aviary when sitting in their back yard. So many species of birds! What a treat it was to see...
