With a balcony facing the beach...you can't get any closer to the ocean than this old beach bum type hotel...even sand on the carpets in the hall way...(there are public showers for after swimming across the road, rinse off folks)...great atmosphere on that street...don't really need to go far for food/coffee/beer/fun... We had a great time...and the room cost 75...

The beach views from the balcony were wonderful but eveything else was lacking. The room smelled like raw sewage, carpets stained and torn, beds lumpy, sink did not drain, breakfast was minimal. Better off staying at Embassy Suites about 6 miles south for a little more money. This once elegant inn is now little more than a flop house.

Hotel accomodations are "C+", brekfast is "B", breakfast room is "C-", bathrooms are OK "C" but could use more TLC, maids are neither friendly nor professional "D", front desk (who also answer the phone) are indeed great and sweet "A" but they have limitations considering the conditions. The environment is not healthy at all "F" because they ALLOW SMOKING in...

We just returned from four days at Inn On The Beach in Ventura. It's in a great location and we had a nice king bed overlooking the Pacific. We slept every evening with the door open, drifting off to the sound of gently crashing surf just outside; quite pleasant. Walks along the beach north to the Ventura Pier are a...

Yes, it's next to the sea and and the interior is awesome. But if you expect clean carpets (I do not mean scrupulous cleanliness) then you might be upset. There were some points it smelled of animal excremental. I booked a patio floor room via Priceline. From down there you cannot see the sea because of a sand dune right...

Yes! The carpet was dirty! It is even dirtier since I must have dragged a bit of sand with me as I strolled in barefoot from the beach! Yes! the wallpaper was old school and the windows had the seaside So Cal half salt air half smog on them. Soooooo, who cares! The staff was more than professional, accommodating and...

This is not a place for you if you cannot overlook the lack of cleanliness and poorly maintained hotel. The carpet in our room was dirty, the shower was dirty. That said, I didn't walk around the room barefoot. The windows were so dirty we couldn't see out of them. The balcony was so uninviting because it had bird droppings...

This hotel is a great, quiet place to stay on the beach if you don't like the corporate cookie-cutter hotel chains. Get a room overlooking the beach, as opposed to the other side of the building which overlooks the parking lot. Open up the sliding glass door and let the ocean air come in. The place is small and there...

Not necessary to pay the extra money to be on the beach-it was pretty cold and windy! Accommodations were fine, quaint, but could use a deep cleaning. Breakfast was simple, but adequate-coffee, juice, pastries and oatmeal. Employees were very friendly. Really enjoyed Duke's Griddle-N-Grill right down the street-great fish tacos, salmon BLT's!

We went here for our Anniversary, it had amazing views! There was a lighting storm and we got front row seats to see mother natures show. Walking distance to restaurants and other attractions in town, it was a fun get-a-away that was close to home.
