I have been staying at the Bella Maggiore Hotel for years and it is just lovely. A small family type hotel that is clean and comfortable and a joy to stay at. The hotel is a little old fashioned, but this adds to its charm and keeps me coming back at least twice a year.

We have stayed at this Bed and Breakfast three times now. Although we have had pleasant experiences, this time our room needed some sprucing up. The sitting area had worn upholstery and the bathroom looked a bit haggard. We were woken up by a trash truck at 6 am. on a Saturday morning. Also, the breakfast at Nonna's, a restaurant...

We entered from the courtyard and was politely greeted by the wine and cheese reception attendant. It was our first time so we were pleasantly pleased by the soft tones and comfort feel you get from the main lobby. Our second floor room was large and comfortable and overlooked the sundeck. Overall, we were happy there was no screaming children...

Love the Bella and its employees! Very relaxing in downtown Ventura, and close to the Ventura Museum and shopping! No elevator, but I managed to get up and down the stairs OK. Love the food at breakfast, and the service is muy bueno! Also, say hi to the ghost (Sylvia?), say no more! 😎

I came to Ventura for a wedding at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. I checked out all the local hotels on TripAdvisor and narrowed it down to the Bella Maggiore Inn and the Crowne Plaza. Decided on Bella Maggiore and was glad I did. It is a small, charming bed and breakfast, not a hotel. It is centrally located to the...

I have stayed at Bella Maggiore seven or eight times over the past ten years. There are many charming things about this hotel built in the 1920's. They serve wine and cheese between 5:00 and 6:00pm. The lobby has a wonderful fireplace and several nooks in which to sit and relax. A full breakfast is included in the price and...

Superb stay. Great location. Cheese and wine at sundown and extensive breakfast from menu in beautiful courtyard setting. Room was great, shutters and very spacious. Smaller bed but who needs a super king on holiday when you want to get cosy and snuggle. Elegant furniture throughout, piano in the lounge. Really homely and welcoming. Beautiful grand staircase. Not posh, not...

For one night and two very ample breakfasts, charging $100 is cheap. No air conditioning but there is a fan. Wooden shutters let noise through, especially on the street side of the building. Queen bed, not King. But the European art and decor, the friendly reception staff, and the SUPER breakfast make for a great place to stay. Lure fish...

If you are interested in experiencing downtown Ventura's dining and entertainment district then this could be the hotel for you (read on for caveats). It is conveniently located near shops, popular restaurants, bars, and theaters. Also a few blocks away from the ocean front. Lot's of great music on the weekend at the local bars. The hotel itself has a...

My husband and I decided to get out of LA for the weekend and made a last minute reservation for one night at the Bella Maggiore Inn. We were shocked at how low the rate was for a Saturday night. The location is PERFECT. We loved being right on California street and it's so conveniently located near Main that we...

Set on a palm tree-lined street, this 1926 hotel is just a half-block to downtown Ventura and 3 blocks to the beach. Rooms are decorated in an Italianate style, have private bathrooms, and free WiFi.
