We stayed at Hotel Metro in June 2013 for 3 nights and this was our first time in New York. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore, with an amazing close up view of the Empire State Building. The breakfast is great to set you up for a day of sightseeing. The decor and bedrooms are done to...

Hotel recommended by acquaintance, booked it due to reviews on TripAdvisor, and thrilled with choice. It is located near the Empire State Building, Macy's and the subway; a great central location. The rooms are smallish (expected this here) and clean; shower is huge. Nice selection for free continental breakfast. Staff was always gracious and willing to help - especially important...

My wife and I were in NYC just for one Monday night in mid-June for a charity function. I found Hotel Metro after a little research and I feel like a hero! What a great hotel. I can't recall whether or not we booked a premier room, but that is what we received. Corner premier room on the 11th floor....

My boyfriend and I spent the week in New York and booked the Hotel Metro based on reviews from Tripadvisor. It is a great hotel. Great staff, excellent rooms and a free breakfast each morning with bagels, yogurt, cereal, coffee, and pastry. The rooftop garden area was open to guests 24 hours a day, with a great view of the...

I chose to come here based on trip advisor reviews and the competitive prices. I was glad I did with the hotel being high quality with comfy beds, large rooms and good bathrooms. The location was also amazing and probably the best part!! The staff were friendly and helpful. The only complaints I have was that I never got a...

Just returned from stay at Hotel Metro, we stayed from 25-29th June, our flight arrived into New York around 10am, when we got to hotel, we were told we couldnt check in until 4pm, which I was annoyed about as we hadn't been to bed due to our overnight flight. We were told we could have breakfast and stuff and...

We have passed this hotel over a few times, but tried it last night. What a hidden gem!!!! Exceptionally clean, super friendly staff, beautiful roof top terrace, comfy beds, nice complementary breakfast (nice assortment to choose from). Beautiful art deco charm. Without a doubt we will be staying here again. It was small enough for them to pay attention to...

This hotel was ok, it wasn't great but it wasn't poor either. We stayed for a week at the end of June. The location of this hotel was spot on, right in the centre of things, with lots of attractions within walking distance, and a subway at the end of the street for those which were a bit further out....

My wife and I, aged 29 and 30, stayed here from 25th to 29th June as part of a package holiday through Trailfinders in Edinburgh and had stayed in Vegas for 7 nights prior to this. This was a belated honeymoon for us also. Having both been to NYC twice before, we both agreed that this was a really nice...

The checking in was swift and the bedroom small but clean, although the air conditioning was noisy compared to other hotels visited. The beds were comfortable and well maintained. There is a great roof garden, although this is let down by areas being cordoned off at the best times, of the day and the drinks are very expensive. The main...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
