.It really is a very nice place to stay and they have a really good restaurant however--- There aren't any walkable places to eat and except for the museums there isn't anything to do. Subway or cab to shop, theater or food. There is a Goodwill...More
Centrally located. If you are traveling for business and rely on the internet, then I would not recommend this hotel as the internet was intermittent. Only a one night stay. Clean rooms, a little dated!

We have been staying at the Lucerne Hotel for many years. It is incredibly convenient and reliably good. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We love the upper west side and the Lucerne is the best hotel we have stayed at. The rooms tend...More
Here over the MLK weekend for celebratory family time. Lucerne was a great choice convenient to the event venues, restaurants, and museums. The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable and quiet. Good value. We’d stay again.
Nestled between Central Park and the Hudson River, the Upper West Side offers iconic architecture and a quiet, residential respite from the buzzing energy of downtown. Along Central Park West are many of the city’s most iconic apartment buildings, as well as the American Museum of Natural History, which has been welcoming visitors to its historic exhibit halls for over 140 years. Culture fans will love Lincoln Center,
home to some of the world’s best opera, dance, film, and theatre performances, all centrally located around a beautiful fountain. Spanning the entire length of the Upper West Side, Riverside Park is ideal for a long, leisurely stroll in a quiet green space.

About the same answer as the other ones - there is no shortage of places to eat around the hotel! It ranges from inexpensive delis and sports bars to expensive restaurants. There's also a big drugstore across the street - Duane Reade's - that has everything - snacks, waters, soft drinks, etc.
