I've stayed here twice, visiting family a few blocks away. Very conveniently located on Madison and 92d, it's quite an old hotel that has changed hands several times. The rooms are clean and reasonably sized, but have a 1960's feel about them. In fact, the place has a somewhat tattered look and is in bad need of redecoration. The staff...

This is a warm and comfortable spot in the charming neighborhood of Carnegie Hill. I had a two-day shoot for my company but also stayed here with my family. In both cases, the staff was friendly and most accommodating - shoot was a great success as was our stay.

It was a recipe for disaster: 5 adults. One room. But Hotel Wales not only kept us from killing each other, it make our stay in New York great. We had plenty of space to decompress after all-day activities -- we rotated between sunning in the deep window ledges like cats, reading in the mezzanie, taking in the view from...

We stay at the Wales because it is near our children's home. We have always been welcomed warmly and have had rooms that are very comfortable. I appreciate a hotel that puts it's money in the really important things - beds, towels, bath amenities, rather than fancy lobbies, etc. Everything that is important is top quality. The lounge on the mezzanine...

I visited this hotel due to its proximity to Mount Sinai Hospital, as my mother was having surgery there. I booked 2 rooms, both were spotless. They are on the small side, but I had read other reviews so I was prepared for that. Check in was easy and we were informed about the free coffee/tea/sangria at that time. We...

I think overall the hotel was quite nice. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially the bell man who helped me with my bags and loaned me a hotel umbrella because it was raining. A minimal coffee bar is available on the mezzanine level. Strange that since the hotel is connected to Sarabeth's there's no option for a pastry, that...

We stayed here for spring break vacation. We pre-booked and pre-paid for a Carnegie Suite with a King Bed. Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
