I was disappointed by the Waldorf. Whilst it is an undeniably grand and impressive hotel, it is living off its name and reputation to such an extent that the attention to detail and level of service that one expects from a 5 star hotel is absent. For example: -On arrival, in the early hours of the morning and after a...

Dear Mushis, Thank you for writing your review. We should have had a doorman in place; it sounds as if you came in through the Park Avenue entrance and with heavy bags our goal is the motor court. Our responsibility to direct the driver properly. While the Park Avenue entrance is, to my view, indisputably the glam entrance, it is...

We had an 8 day family holiday with our son in New York staying at the Waldoff. Great experience of a hotel that is still up there with the best. I could nit pick and say that the rooms could be more modern but you are in an iconic building with an interior of grandeur. If you are not pleased...

As the title says the Waldorf was in an extremely good location but lacked personality and any recognition from staff to the paying guests. The beds were comfy. Rooms were warm. View was poor...........however we loved New york!

Dear Alison S, We train our folks that a component of luxury service is based on discretion; providing elegant service without being obvious. Yet while your comments on elements of the hotel contained positive the fact you were not given a level of personalized attention does not meet the expectation. I appreciate you pointing out this failure during your stay....

Was so lucky to have experienced the amazing Thanksgiving brunch at the Waldorf Astoria this year. The large selection of delicious food satisfies even the pickiest of palettes such as mine. Although I had to wait in line for the made to order Baked Alaska desert, it was worth every second. The yummy food was only outdone by the a...

This past summer, in celebration of my fifty-fourth birthday, our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, and the two year anniversary of my wife’s successful battle against breast cancer, my family and I decided to take a trip to New York City for a weekend getaway. We chose New York City because we wanted to take our ten year old daughter to see...

Dear RatDragopnMonkey, Such a marvelous review to read. Both colleagues you mentioned are outstanding every day. Ms. Tapfar motivates me to be better and no one on earth is more organized than Ms DeGuzman. Maybe as organized, but no one more so. Congratulations to your wife on her recovery. I get she is tough. When I heard we were going to stay at the Waldorf I was thrilled. But after the beautiful foyer with the Christmas decorations, the rooms were so old fashioned, dark and dreary. No drawers but they did have a fridge full of liquor and drinks. Because of a broken bone in my foot I spent the afternoons in my room....

Dear Carolyn B, Broken foot in a walking city like New York- that is a shame. Walking is the best way to experience the city. I will send you a private message in hopes of determining your room number. Staff absolutely MUST properly announce themselves upon entering the room. We can interrogate that lock. I hope your injury heals quickly,...

We just returned from our first visit to New York. We were able to stay at the Waldorf Astoria, and it was just perfect. The Hotel is beautiful and the staff was kind and professional. The entire trip was excellent, and we can't wait to return! The location is perfect for enjoying all New York has to offer.

This was our 5th stay and what once was a delight to stay was quite a disappointment with this our last. We arrived on a Sunday and stayed in a Family Suite. Dear N2tiques4me, A hotel such as ours- likely just about any hotel- will need repeat guests and your comments indicate you fit that profile. Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
