I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel - the lobby hall did not disappoint. Reception is buried in what felt like the heart of the hotel - it was quite dark and signage could have been better. The staff were friendly - although could have done with more staff on reception both when checking in and out...

A classic hotel with NYC sophisticated charm. The location is great: easy access to Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. Also close to Central Park and shopping galore. The bed was very comfortable and my room was clean. I felt like I was the only person staying on my floor (which seemed a bit like the Shining but it...

This is an outdated hotel with a grandeur lost in translation. Upon arrival (12+ hour travel) we were informed that our rooms were not available. Fair. We were 45 minutes before check in. We were informed that we would receive a text with our rooms being ready shortly after 3pm. 3:30pm with no text, so decided to enquire at the...

We decided to stay at the Waldorf Astoria during a recent long weekend as we heard about the upcoming renovations and partial conversion to condos. We wanted a "last stay" before things change. I checked in via the Hilton app as we were driving from upstate New York. When I arrived our room was not ready. The front desk staff...

Hotel is in a brilliant location and easy walking distance to practically everything in New York. However the main attraction of the hotel has to be the fabulous Lobby area which is beyond photogenic! Staff are all helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

I have to say the hotel is in a beautiful location. Easy access to Rockefeller Center, Radio City, Central Park. It has a beautiful stature about it. I just was not all that impressed with everything else. Understanding that this is an old property with a lot of history. I found the property to be lacking in restaurants and lounges....

This was the 8th time we have stayed at the Waldorf Astoria. Although still immaculately clean the hotel is definitely in need of TLC and hopefully the forthcoming upgrade will provide this without losing the wonderful tradition of the place.

The Waldorf is a lovely old hotel and certainly worth a visit. We did not eat the Sunday brunch but it looked incredible and I would recommend trying it. We stayed one night in a room with two double beds. It also had a sitting room and two full bathrooms. I guess we paid about $70 to upgrade from a...

Dear Wendy S, Thank you for taking the time aside to write a review regarding your recent stay here at the Waldorf Astoria, New York. The Waldorf Astoria is more than a hotel- it is a castle, an embassy, a chapel, a fine dining hall, a concert venue, a New York City icon. It represents something different to everyone. We...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
