This is a great, old and elegant hotel in an excellent Midtown location. Service was unfailingly helpful and friendly. The restaurant is very good, and my room was truly spectacular-large, comfortable and well laid out.

We recently moved back to NYC and we decided to stay at the St. Regis for a few weeks while we waited for our more long-term apartment to be available. But we ended up leaving after just three days. There were many reasons, but the main reason was that I ended up having a major allergic reaction to their sheets....

This is a decidedly unhip hotel seemingly favored by the older generations. The rooms are quite small and I feel somewhat awkward interfacing with the pubic areas such as the lobby. It is near a lot of stuff so that is good.

I stayed in a huge two-room suite here, and I just don't understand the appeal. Perhaps my tastes are just not, ahem, refined enough, but I found the hotel to be a bit stuffy and uninspiring. This was the 3rd or 4th St. Regis that I've stayed at, and I finally realized that the brand just isn't for me. I...

Stayed here to catch NYC at Christmas and were excited to stay in a legendary hotel. We have stayed at the St. Regis in Mexico City, Singapore and others, and were expecting the same level of excellence. We truly wanted to love this hotel, but instead, left feeling grateful we used points, and not cash, for our stay. Sad to...

I love the St Regis (generally speaking but especially the New York). I've stayed here 12 times over the last 4 years or so. It just seems to get better each time. Tire's a great new feature which is the Rooms control Manager (Molly) emailing me ahead of time to see when we would be arriving. My SPG upgrade available...

The reception entrance is beautiful very grand but I felt it was very over priced for example over $100 for a couple croissant's and English tea plus tip. We had no view which was a shame since our hotel looked over Central Park. But the bathroom was divine ad the bed was so comfortable a real good nice sleep. Staff...

Stayed there 3 times last year - so obviously it's good enough. The location is fantastic. The rooms are updated, but the hotel itself is very old (but clean). It felt like the classic Ritz Carltons. I'd stay there again.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
