We stayed at the Franklin for four days in August. The room was tiny but clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the location is great! The hotel is just a block away from the 86th and Lexington subway stop (4/5/6 trains).

This hotel was in a good location for the museums and central park. The breakfast is adequate and the happy hour is a nice touch. I would certainly stay here again should I visit New York, the room was small but comfortable.

I booked the Franklin because I was visiting a friend at a nearby hospital. The first hotel I called promised (twice) to call me back to make a reservation but never did (twice). By contrast, from the reservation to the guest services to my in-person check in, The Franklin really excelled. The staff are super kind and nice. The room...

Stayed here for 4 days, 3 nights, and loved our stay here...This hotel built in 1929 has retained the character, while updating amenities. We stayed in the suite -room 52. Beautiful comfortable king size bed. The service was amazing. From the welcome at the hotel check in to the doors held for us to get on and off the elevator...

Just got back after staying here for a week. Wanted a hotel near to Daughter who lives in Upper East Side and came across this hotel searching the internet. What a little gem, set in an unassuming street between 3rd Avenue and Lexington, only a block away from the Subway and three blocks from Central Park. We had a "Studio"...

We chose this hotel because it was convenient to our daughter's new apartment on the upper west side. We came to town to help her move in. When arriving to check in for the room, we were informed that they were sold out and that we were being sent to another hotel 50 blocks away. No discussion no money back...

It was a good stay at this small hotel. It is well located in a quiet and safe area with a Subway station a few meters. Room was very clean and comfortable. There are several points that require attention: the breakfast service was not very good, cappuccino machine was broken throughout all the week, the elevator was broken several times...

This hotel is a true find for any museum-goer because it is literally situated only a few blocks from the Metropolitan on a quiet, safe street. The hotel has the character of a European boutique hotel with small common areas, but a lot of old world charm yet at a value price which is astounding for upper East side Manhattan....

Location, location, location! We were in the city exclusively for the Museum Mile, and we didn't have to use a bus or cab at all during our stay. Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
