The Carlton Hotel reads a lot like an old book, the exterior draws you in, but start looking inside and it begins to fall apart. Upon arrival you are greeted by a stinking lobby. You go to your floor and the halls look great. You go inside your room, look around, and the issues begin to appear. First, the furniture... More

Thank you for your staying at the Carlton Hotel and for your review of our hotel! We are a proud member of the Autograph Collection and as such receive numerous letters of positive feedback daily with regards to our hotel. We are most proud of our lobby and of our David Rockwell inspired rooms. We do have some different pieces... More

The traffic noise I was able to hear from my room was louder than the noise at any NYC hotel in which I have stayed in my lifetime (and I've probably stayed 100+ nights in NYC, not including a short stint where I rented an apartment in the city for a couple of months). My guess as to why the... More

We really loved our stay here. The hotel is historic and charming, and the rooms are really large for New York standards, which was a plus. We came for an event that was held right across the street, so the location was perfect. The service from the staff was excellent and we would definitely stay here again.

My bed in this hotel was absolutely delicious. Crisp linens, great pillows, comfy mattress. Some people complained about the street noise but my room (538) faced a courtyard so it was dead quiet. Free (and fast) wifi is a nice perk.

we stayed here one night while in town for vacation. We had a room on the 4th floor and the cost of the room was around $300. The room was nice but i thought it was a little small for the price, even for NYC. location was good for us and we were able to easily walk to the theater... More

I stayed at this hotel because it was associated with the Marriott chain, and because it was in the neighborhood where I needed to be for business. It describes itself as a "high personality hotel" that has recently undergone a "stylish multi million dollar transformation". That makes me worry about what it used to be like! I had an Executive... Greetings, crkport – Thank you for choosing to stay at the Carlton. I sincerely apologize for the lack of customer displayed by our front of house associates. We have addressed this concern though re-training. The hotel does not have a concierge level as is not a Marriott hotel. We are however excited to be a member of the Autograph Collection... More

We have stayed at the Carlton several times. It has a very nice lobby and facilities. and the decor is very nice and modern. We were recently booked through my husbands company for one night at a very good rate. The room seemed smaller than we have had in the past and I asked if we could get a larger... More

On my last visit to NYC I stayed at The Carlton Hotel which is part of Marriott's Autograph collection. As with many of the Autograph collection hotels, it is a classic hotel with lots of ambience. While the rooms are small, they are very nice. I'd have to say that they're as quiet as any in Midtown at the 10th... More

From the minute I walked into the lobby, I was treated with special care and received great service. My corner room was lovely. BUT - holy street noise, Batman - the hotel was built at the beginning of the last century, and it is quite apparent that the windows have not been updated since then. After many years of traveling... More
