We stayed here for 5 nights in mid-May, and loved it. Yes, the rooms are on the (very) small side, but no different than most other NYC hotels. The location cannot be beat - on 44th between 5th and 6th. The hotel has been recently refurbished, and it shows. The quality of the linens and materials in the rooms is...

I have stayed in just about every Marriott property in New York, and was looking for a reason to try the Algonquin Hotel since Marriott added it to its Autograph collection. The hotel is in a great location - just a couple of blocks from Times Square in one direction, and 5th Avenue in the other. This is an old...

1 of 3 hotels I stayed in during an NYC trip. I wanted to stay in a boutique, and I chose this one since it was a Marriott property. Rooms were tiny...even more so than expected. Especially compared to the Marriott Marquis that I had just checked out of. This location is in walking distance of the heart of Times...

My husband and I had a great night at the Algonquin. We were upgraded to a suite (due to Gold Marriott status) which was wonderful. It was like having a small apartment. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had enough room for us, although it did only have a shower. We loved the l'Occitane bath products. We found...

Very nice property but the street room walls are paper thin that I thought our window was open but they weren't... request a room off 44th street... I know it's NYC BUT deliveries at 4:30 am are unexceptable... The rooms are very nice & comfortable... The lobby, we had a late afternoon bottle of wine... Sonoma Cutter that retails for...

We had the pleasure to stay at this beautiful hotel for 2 nights. We were 2 adults and we've got the king size bedroom. You can't beat the location of this hotel. It's the best you can get in NYC. One block from Times SQ, half a block from 5th Ave.. what can you ask for more in NYC?? The...

The lobby was so beautiful and romantic, and Matilda (the cat) was a bonus! Food was a bit pricey, but the wait staff was so nice and so efficient that it was worth it. The room, a suite, was lovely, and well-appointed. I LOVED the light/picture over the bed! When we called room service, our order came immediately! Front Desk...

For the good experiences: check-in was easy. Matilda the cat was at the front desk when i checked-in. Lobby is small, intimate bar (i thought i had entered the bar by mistake). Bell hop took me up to the room. This hotel is in a really good location between 5th and 6th. While part of TS, it is away from...

Great hotel and perfect location, but don't eat or drink anything here...way overpriced F&B. Bar Blue attached to the hotel is especially overpriced. $30.00 for a mineral water and a Captain & Coke? And they don't seem to care if you've earned a high level with Marriott. No special treatment here. Quick to let you know they're 'just' Marriott affiliated.

Beautiful older boutique hotel located just off Times Square. Far enough away to be quiet, close enough to be convenient. Great coffee shop across the street. The rooms are small but stylish. The bathroom was more like a closet, but this is New York City!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
