What an amazing place to stay in New York. Not only is the location fantastic but the staff made our stay most enjoyable. There was a small hiccup on our stay (air conditioner leaked on the bed) the staff handled it incredibly well and looked after all our needs through it. And the upgraded room was phenomenal. Every employee at...

This hotel is in an excellent area on a quiet street near Times Square, the theatre district and shopping. This is an older, elegant hotel and rich with history. The room was small with no view but was well appointed. Check in and check out was a breeze with efficient and very friendly staff. There were only two elevators but...

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Amazing staff, extremely nice rooms - modern with charm. The king suite was very spacious, specially for NYC (I read the queen rooms are small). Lobby a bit small, but wasn't looking to spend much time there anyways.. Although would've liked to try the bar there. I hope to be back soon as I really...

The Algonquin is a newly renovated hotel within two blocks of Times Square. The boutique hotel exceeded our expectations with its friendly staff and great location. The front desk upgraded us to the Atlantic Monthly corner suite with breakfast in the lounge. It's an older hotel recently renovated but keeping the historical uniqueness in place. Never had a problem with...

We stayed here for a long weekend and were impressed from start to finish. The lobby is newly renovated and very trendy and comfortable. Our room was a renovated 1 bedroom suite that was surprisingly large for NYC. it hade beautiful decor, was very clean, and the air conditioning worked great (which was important since it was over 95 each...

We stayed here in September 2011. Late review but better late than never. It is in a brilliant location right at times square. The staff were very helpful and helped us book the tour bus as this is the best way to get around the city! The room was very small but that didnt bother us as we didnt spend...

Being centrally located, the Algonquin Hotel is a good choice if you don't want to spend hours in the subway when visiting NY. Rooms are big enough, taking into account the New York standard, were many hotel rooms are the size of a matchbox. Staff is very friendly and helpful. NY is a noisy city, so make sure you have...

To start with, the hotel is in a convenient location. It has recently been updated, and my daughter said it is very "Gatsby". One of the things I most appreciated, and certainly didn't expect (having stayed in New York hotels before), was how quiet the rooms were. At night, the street sounds were almost inaudible. Being a light sleeper, this...

My husband and I stayed at the Algonquin last week for (1) night to see a show and have dinner. What a great experience, check-in was easy and fast. I read the reviews regarding noise so I was a bit worried and asked for a room away from the elevators. We were given a great corner room facing the back...

First time staying here since now part of Marriott brand. Was actually cheaper this week than a Courtyard around the corner and such a better experience. Lots of charm in this older property but nicely renovated so no amenities are missing. Very nice fitness center with more room and equipment than what I typically see. Room was smallish but larger...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
