Stayed the weekend at the Algonquin, a historic hotel. It has kept it's charm, and has upgraded some things over the years. The rooms are 1900s sized, and the lack of coffee makers, etc, is not that big a deal - you're in NYC! The bathroom was nicely appointed and everything worked. The staff was excellent. One of the great...

Currently at the hotel. In NYC for the weekend to meet up with my spouse between business trips. Cashed in 90,000 Marriott points - 90,000 - for "two (2)" nights at the Algonquin. Worst spend of points ever! On check in I was assigned a room that apparently was meant for another guest. A birthday card from the hotel was...

Went here as a group of couples. Greatt location, central to everything. Good coffee ship opposite. Good/clean spacious rooms. Had to move from low level at the front as noisy all night. Overall great place. Would def return!

Recently stayed here for a conference. All of the hotel staff were wonderful. My room was small, even by NYC standards - it basically fit a bed and that's it. A few items in the room were not broken or not working.

We stayed for an overnight after a concert in town. The hotel is old and small. The rooms are small and the baths are so small, you will need to go outside to change your mind. Nevertheless, the staff is top notch. The rooms are nicely-appointed, and the location is ideal for seeing so much of the City. We had...

We loved this hotel. It is very quaint and has a lot of history. Bathroom was a bit small. It was perfectly located for walking to the theatres and restaurants as well as other sites. Staff were very friendly and I loved seeing Matilda the cat! Would definitely stay there again.

Room was lovely and very clean; housekeeping services were excellent throughout my 4 night stay. I chose this hotel for atmosphere which it has in abundance, and for the location which was superb for my short visit. As with any "historic" property there are drawbacks - only one working elevator chief among them. But the staff were so friendly and...

I was traveling for work and we stayed at the Algonquin. The location was perfect for picking up the subway just a few blocks away in Times Square. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed was very, very comfortable. The room and bathroom were on the small side, but it was just me and the space was just...

Wonderful staff! This is a trip back in time. Beautiful. And, yes, you can dine in the Oak Room at the Round Table in Dorothy Parker's chair. Wish they offered more books and information on hotel. Centrally located, but on a relatively quiet street. Close to Bryant Park and the NYP Library, lots of shopping and super restaurants. Not as...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
