I have to say we really liked the entire stay for my wife and 17 year old son. The concierge was fantastic and helped us around not just places to eat but also honestly saved us money on transportation from the hotel to the airport $50 VS spending twice as much from the Airport taking care of on my own... We were moved to the Blakley during the busy Thanksgiving season. What a wonderful surprise. Although older, the attention to detail, room conveniences, great front desk service, & delightful adjacent breakfast room made this the best hotel expericence in a long time! We would certainly return & highly reccommend.

After years of staying at the Park Central where prices have skyrocketed since remodel decided to give the Blakely a try. Rooms are traditional, but very comfortable. The staff couldn't be more accommodating. In walking distance of Time Square, Central Park, Columbus Circle and so much more. I look forward to staying again.

The public areas are small but the rooms were more than spacious, including a completely separate living area along with the bedroom and nicely appointed bathroom. They were clean and decorated with comfortable furniture and included a nice little bar area where you could make coffee. The location is great, within easy walking distance of the Theater district in one... More

Dear WellTraveledCritic, Thank you for your kind and retailed review. I am delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay and found the room to be clean and comfortable. The Blakely provided a very convenient location for the plans we had while in NYC. It was within walking distance of subway and bus, as well as the theater district. The concierge and staff were quite helpful with directions and suggestions and they very readily responded to a room modification request. Although The Blakely may not have the amenities of... More

What a really great hotel. Small, comfortable and the help and attention of all staff was incredible! we stayed here on two occasions...one in Sept for 3 nights and again in October , for 4 nights. it has the feel of a Gentleman's club. Highly recommended!

This hotel is barely a hotel. The elevator will barely hold 3 people with luggage. It does NOT have a restaurant as indicated on the website, It does NOT have a rooftop as indicated on the website. Our TINY room on the 7th floor may as well have been on street level as the windows were so cheap and did... More

I've stayed at The Blakey three times since March 2015 and it never disappoints. It's cozy and the location is perfect in Manhattan. Love easy access to Broadway shows and Times Square! The junior suite is perfect for 2 or 3 travelers as it offers the extra room with a comfortable day bed. The staff is attentive as well. Ask... More

This is a charming and friendly little hotel in a great location in midtown. Staff are very helpful and rooms were spacious and well appointed. The marble bathrooms were particularly nice with large bath/shower. Downsides were noisy construction work currently taking place next door from very early and lack of restaurant for breakfast (you have to go to Bon au... More

I had a better experience than another recent guest. My room was on a high floor and faced 55th street and I had a view of a dome, some sky, and out of the corner, a rooftop garden. There WAS construction but it wasnt a problem with noise for very long. Maybe half a day out of the four nights/five... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
