When arranging to meet a friend in NYC and finding that suites were quite pricey, someone recommended The Blakely. We got a spacious suite with separate bedroom, living room with a day bed and a little "kitchenette" at a very reasonable price for Manhattan. The...More
Stayed here for two nights on a recent business trip. The location is good in mid-town and the staff was friendly on check-in. Overall, I'd give it a 3.5 star. The rooms are small which is to be expected. The wallpaper in our room was...More
The Blakely Hotel is an excellent choice for a hotel in Midtown, without Midtown hotel prices. The hotel looks slightly older with a lodge-style aesthetic, but it only added to the charm of the building. There are 2 lifts in the building.

Location is near Central Park and close to most things around New York. It has a variety of restaurants near by from light snacks to expensive dinners. Hotel itself was a little price but mostly expected in New York. We had a large room with...More
Stayed here for 4 nights in April. Here is my take:
Location: 5-star, centrally located
Staff: 4-star, friendly
Room: 4-star, older, classy, well-maintained
Breakfast: 3-star, any egg and breakfast meat would be a plus
Noise: 1-star, major wind and traffic noise.
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

No, we do not have a rooftop bar. Inside, we do have a bar available in our restaurant, Black Tap.
As the warmer days are soon to approach us, our concierge are more than happy to assist in some spots with rooftop views.

Yes, there was quite a bit of construction going on. I didn't notice much noise in the morning, but we are pretty early risers. One night there was work going on until about 10:00? We sleep with a white-noise machine, so it wasn't bothersome to us. If you are a very light sleeper, I would take it into account.
