Nestled between Central Park and the Hudson River, the Upper West Side offers iconic architecture and a quiet, residential respite from the buzzing energy of downtown. Along Central Park West are many of the city’s most iconic apartment buildings, as well as the American Museum of Natural History, which has been welcoming visitors to its historic exhibit halls for over 140 years. Culture fans will love Lincoln Center, home to some of the world’s best opera, dance, film, and theatre performances, all centrally located around a beautiful fountain. Spanning the entire length of the Upper West Side, Riverside Park is ideal for a long, leisurely stroll in a quiet green space.

Hotel Belleclaire is a solid option in a great location and is good value for what you pay. That said, don't expect a five star experience. The hotel's upper west side location is close to subways and all the amenities that the UWS has to...More
I almost hesitate writing e a glowing report for fear that this hotel will become too popular and over run! I traveled alone, and so the "standard double" was adequate but would have been too tight for a couple, in my opinion. I find that...More

We stayed from monday 5/11 til friday 9/11 2018. We had high expectations for what was supposed to be our amazing vacation celebrating a birthday and an accomplished university grade.

Thank you for your note. I am sorry to hear your birthday celebration was less than stellar. We did have an unfortunate leak that was coming from a room in your area. At the time the room 717 was not available but a guest did...More
The Hotel Belleclaire is a mix of vintage and modern features. It’s in a great location as it’s away from the hustle bustle of downtown and in walking distance to Central Park and many coffee shops and restaurants. It still can be noisy at night...More
This hotel continues to be one of my favorites. It has a great location, and nice rooms of a reasonable size, with quirky charm. Very clean and nicely maintained.
However, the lower-level rooms that face on Broadway are very, very noisy, especially since the hotel...More

There are numerous really nice bars in the immediate neighborhood of the Belleclaire - or restaurants with a separate bar area. You will have an easy time finding a whole range of bars - from basic neighborhood bars to more modern contemporary bars. Within an easy 5 minute walk you will find plenty of choices.

All I can say is that the five days we were there, we saw no mice. However, that said, the rooms are older and they told us they are being "updated and renovated." I would make sure you asked for one of those rooms. Also do NOT get a room on the 1st floor (actually the second floor of the hotel) on the street side. It was terribly noisy all night -- traffic, people standing on the street conversing, partying. I did not like that. I went with the "sometimes" boyfriend and I will not go back.
