My girlfriend and I booked a room for a week in NYC. We chose this hotel because of the consistently strong reviews on this website. The hotel is in a good location - a short walk to 79th St and 72nd St subway stations. It is also very close to Central Park. We even walked to

This hotel was perfect for our recent visit to New York. The room comfortably accommodated our family of four with individual beds for our two older daughters. Location is perfect for restaurants and supermarkets and less than two blocks to the subway with Times Square less than

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for making us your choice for your family vacation. Our family suite is a perfect choice for a family of your size and this type of room accommodation is quite rear in NYC to host 6 guest all together. It looks like you got some tips from the from the office team as Viand Cafe is a favorite of ours. We are the perfect distance from the hustle of midtown to allow you to enjoy a quiet neighborhood feel. We are thrilled that you had a great vacation and we ask that you do not keep us a secret; please tell your friends so they too can experience our warmth on the UWS. Fondly, S. Hunte

Thank you GotWarren for your review, I wanted to take a moment and thank you for your review. I am sorry to read you had a less than stellar experience at our hotel during your recent visit and I am reviewing your feedback with our team. We are a Landmark building and were performing required maintenance on certain parts of the hotel, but we certainly should have handled this differently. I was quite disappointed to hear of your interaction with one of our managers. We are normally well recognized for our friendly and professional staff and I am looking into your interaction that you referenced. I can assure you that this is an isolated incident and we are addressing this. I do apologize for any inconvenience and we look forward to another opportunity to have you as a guest and I will ensure we exceed your expectations. Sincerely, Robert Holmes

While I don't have any terrible things to say about the actual room, I was charged $27.20 for supposedly eating and drinking things from the mini bar. It did not appear on our bill when we checked out, but appeared at our credit card website. I called 3 times to ask them to take

If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable stay, look no further than the Hotel Belleclaire. The room is spacious, the bathroom is lovely (all marble and much bigger than it should be for NYC) and the beds are comfortable. The only minor complaint is that the coffee in the

Although coffee is not complementary in the lobby we always try to keep an ongoing promotional offer where it is included. Hi does this hotel have a bar that serves drinks? Thanks
There are numerous really nice bars in the immediate neighborhood of the Belleclaire - or restaurants with a separate bar area. You will have an easy time finding a whole range of bars - from basic neighborhood bars to more modern contemporary bars. Within an easy 5 minute walk you will find plenty of choices.

All I can say is that the five days we were there, we saw no mice. However, that said, the rooms are older and they told us they are being "updated and renovated." I would make sure you asked for one of those rooms. Also do NOT get a room on the 1st floor (actually the second floor of the hotel) on the street side. It was terribly noisy all night -- traffic, people standing on the street conversing, partying. I did not like that. I went with the "sometimes" boyfriend and I will not go back.

There are buses right to the Port Authority Manhattan terminal. I would catch one of these-just look onlne for how often they run-which is quite often. Then, if traveling alone you can simply catch an uptown bus or quick subway ride which are run about every 10 minutes or less depending upon traffic. A taxi from the Port Authority Bus terminal will probably cost about $15 or more whereas the bus or subway will be about $5 for a roundtrip and if you visiting sites around NYC for a few days we will probably want a multiride subway pass-just go online to see maps/fares, etc. Buses and subway cars have A/C and as long as you are not traveling during rush hours when passengers are going to and from their jobs-seats will be available-otherwise expect to stand. All the best, Martin G
