why do front desk personnel, especially the male, skinny white, guy made me feel that I stink? I approached him and asked myself to be called at the breakfast room just in case someone will look for us. Its just like a couple of 12 steps away from the front desk. AS I entered the breakfast room, I noticed no...

Great place to stay. The location is fantastic. 5-minute walk to the UN Building. 7 minutes to Grand Central Station. 10 minutes to the Public Library. 20 minutes to Times Square. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Manhattan for sightseeing. Large rooms for Manhattan standards, clean place, friendly and helpful staff. It's a really good hotel to...

Outstanding hotel, staff is outstanding. Breakfast expensive with better alternatives nearby. Somewhat out of the way for sights other than the UN but manageable with taxis. Would recommend to everyone.

Very enjoyable, but brief, business stay. Typical Hilton - very clean, friendly helpful staff, comfortable room. I appreciated the historical value of the building. would like to go back with my wife.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The location is great, not too busy between 1st and 2nd avenue but a short walk to the action. No quality restaurants in the hotel, but you're in NYC, have thousands of restaurants to choose from or deliver to you.

Just average hotel in a great location. Ask for room on a high floor if you want to see anything. Breakfast buffet was good but don't try to order just toast and coffee. If you're in the room you will be billed the entire $34. In walking distance from UN, Times Square, Bryant Park. Lots of cafes and the usual...

This was quite possibly the worst hotel experience I have ever had with Hilton. The staff had attitude, they were surly and unhelpful. They didn't even wear a uniform. Managers on duty rocked around in Jeans and polo shirts. For my entire stay (2 nights) Mugs and litter was left in the corridor outside my room. Room was inadequate and...

Location and Check in : It is located at the heart of Manhattan. Very close to UN Building, Grand Central Station, Chrysler Building and 20mins walk to Times Square. We checked in at 10pm and was assisted with a hassle-free check-in. No of days = 4. Room/Stay : The room was small (standard for Manhattan) but clean. Our room had...

This hotel fails so woefully as to be almost comical. The inability of cleaning staff to clean, the dreadful taupe bathrooms straight out of a 1980s catalogue, the dishonest staff, the total lack of uniform standards that mean members of management swan around in a Lacoste T-Shirts and jeans looking like they've just come in from the country club, the...

The Hilton New York Grand Central (or Manhattan East as it was known when we booked) is a hotel which I have now visited twice; once in August 2016 and again in February 2017. Both times the hotel has been a great place to stay. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Grand Central and 20 to Times...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
