I arrived 45 minutes before check-in, person at desk was extremely pleasant and found a room available. All staff very nice, extremely helpful, room was large and very clean and the cost is very reasonable for Manhattan.. This is my 3rd stay in 23 months, I had 3 surgeries around corner at Hospital for Special Surgery. Every stay was great,....

This was the second time I stayed in this hotel. I had to undergo major surgery at NYP-Weill Cornell Medical Center, which was just across the street, so the hotel location was excellent. We requested a newly-renovated room (12th floor) --- it was very nice, clean, and comfortable, and the kitchenette served us very well. I have to say a...

I recently had to undergo surgery for a total knee replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery. New York Presbyterian Guest Facility could not have been more convenient. Located virtually next door to HSS it makes visiting extremely easy for family and friends. The staff is helpful, courteous and makes ever effort to ensure your comfort. The New York Presbyterian...

This hotel connected to NY Presbyterian Weil Cornell Medical Center is a great value and a significant comfort when having a family member in the hospital. I'm sure all hospitals wish they had a hotel attached like this. Simply awesome 6 day stay.

Would recommend to anyone requiring a stay close to hospitals and looking for a hotel that understands and cares about enduring wonderful and compassionate experience. Assuming many are dealing with a great deal of stress and need the supportive environment offer by your hotel. We were pleased.

Very very wonderful experience. A blessing to be so near to the hospital. Staff very accommodating and helpful. We checked in the day before surgery, which made pre surgery prep easier. As the Helmsley is accommodating families and individuals who are there for medical reasons and procedures, they do not collect NYC room taxes, which are very substantial.

If traveling a distance and surgery is scheduled, it is a good idea to stay the night before. Easy access to the garage from facility. Parking ticket is validated to receive a discount. Variety of restaurants are within walking distance.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
