Love all the staff there and a lot of the tenants on long and short stay. Get to know people, they are all great and attend the social events to meet people that is run by the hotel staff. They run little raffles to win absolutely great prizes. Thanks to everyone I had a great time there :)

I stayed here for a weekend gettaway and it was affordable and convient. The modern decor and central location make it a great selection. The rooms are fairly standard but they are modern and clean with nice bathrooms..

It is a good enough place if you are not that demanding and needy. Be aware the Internet is awful, the worst wi-fi in Manhattan, but I have to say the personnel is very kind and willing to help. It is a great place for a student, you can have the essentials for a good stay in NYC.

I spent approximately two months at Hotel Alexander and my experience has been fully satisfactory in every respect. The location is spectacular, one of the best areas of the UWS, nested between the Riverside Park and the Central Park. It is also perfectly served by the metro, with a stop of two express lines (4-5) to downtown literally two blocks... More

Stayed at the Alexander for a month. We where ten people traveling together divided into several rooms. The rooms was clean and tidy. Only thing to nag about is that the size of a "two queen size bedrooms" is not equal to each other. So one of the rooms where huge, but the other one was tiny. Great place to... More

I stayed in Hotel Alexander for a month. I would say it was a good experience overall however I have to say I had a few issues throughout the stay. First of all the internet connection inside the hotel is really inefficient. At this time and age you expect a wifi connection in a hotel in manhattan with this price... More

Nice hotel, certain parts could be updated a little but in general nice big rooms for NYC, great location for shopping and getting around. We had a baby in the cot, breakfast was great and rooms quiet. Would stay again.

I lived at Hotel Alexander for almost two months. It was a pleasant experience. The neighborhood is agreeable, with two parks on either side, giving a sense of spaciousness. At the same time, it's easy and quick to get to midtown and downtown by subway. The rooms are clean, and it really is the definition of a "boutique budget hotel".... More

“Do not bring big suitcases, the spaces are way too small.”

“The room radiator might get occasionally noisy at night. In fairness, this may occur in many New York buildings, which are old, as it is well known, and have similar equipment. If you are particularly sensitive to that noise, you may ask for a room where this issue is not present or it is to much a lesser extent. ”

“If you want to work from your room, ask for a room with a desk.”
 of 5 bubbles estevams2014, 13 Jun 2015 | Read review
“WI-FI on the 4th floor is excellent. on the 1st -- poor and intermittent. You always have to keep the blinds shut as the windows of the neighbouring building is some 3 metres away. On the first floor (rooms to the left of the reception) you never see the sky and have no sunshine throughout the day because of some roofed construction between the hotel and the next building at the level of the 2nd floor. Rooms are very small, as you will most possibly stay for over a month, try to avoid 1500 rooms, book at least a 1700 or a larger one. Only some of standard rooms (bigger ones) have a table and a chair. Otherwise be prepared to find a bed, a nightstand with a lamp (2 sockets in the base), a 4-drawer cabinet, and a built-in wardrobe with 4-5 hangers in it. That is all.”
