The moment we walked into the hotel, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful -- and freshly baked cookies and freshly flavored water didn't hurt. :) We got to the hotel around mid-day, and were happy that there was a room available already... though apparently there was a glitch, and the room we were first given was still occupied. Any...

Every single staff member we encountered were so professional, helpful and cheerful. They changed our room when we came because our room was not ready yet. They hailed cabs for us several times. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms clean and cozy. i loved the decor. The hotel is in the heart of Tribecca and we never had...

Stellar service, top notch amenities, chic design, fabulous location, business traveler friendly, clean, hip but comfortable, stylish yet welcoming - Duane Street Hotel is 'smart'. I stay in many high end hotels and for a boutique property, this is small treasure in NYC. Hardwood floors, leather seating, luxury linens, quality bath products, well stocked mini bar, strong wifi, full gamut...

My boyfriend and I used a third party booking site to snag a last-minute hotel room, and we were pleasantly surprised with this place. Very typical NYC room - small but efficient. The staff was friendly and the room was great. The hotel was a quick trip from Penn Station, and it was very easy to get around the city from its location. Would definitely stay there again on my next trip to NYC.

It's the little things: soft, terry cloth robe; great bars of soap; insulated walls and windows; superb linens and pillows; good cookies and lemon water around checkout; free parking. I loved it. I wanted to like this place. The price was great for nyc. However, the second floor room window opened onto the street with NO privacy. I had to keep the black out curtains closed. No coffee in room. Location is convenient to subways. Safe. Clean. Just average.

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
