We definitely enjoyed our stay at Hotel Mela on our recent trip to NYC. The location can't be beat, just steps from Times Square with easy access to almost everything. We stayed in a Deluxe King room which was very spacious, we did not feel cramped at all. The bed was very comfortable and the room was modern and exceptionally...

I would highly recommend Hotel Mela - it is reasonably priced and the rooms were exceptionally clean. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We stayed 3 nights and they were having a Spring special where a full breakfast was included in the restaurant next door to the hotel. I can't say enough nice things about this hotel - it was...

After spending a lot of time trying to find a reasonably priced hotel in New York, we found Hotel Mela. With so many hotels being crazy expensive, we were worried this hotel might not meet our standards. However, it was great! Very clean, everyone was friendly and helpful, and it's a perfect location. Plus, breakfast was included at an adorable...

I so enjoy my visits to the MELA. From the happening location to the professionalism of the staff; the MELA is my choice when I'm in Manhattan. Spacious rooms that are clean and quiet make it a great destination for people as picky as me.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in March. it was our first trip to America and this was a trip for my husband's 50th Birthday to New York and then moved onto Dallas for 3 nights. Before arriving I requested either an upgrade or maybe a 'special' treat in light of the special trip we were taking,...

My husband and I started off our 9 week road trip across the US with 3 nights at the Mela. We had booked an Executive King room and were delighted to be upgraded to a suite on our arrival. The suite was fantastic, with a separate lounge, bedroom and large bathroom. The coffee machine in the room was a hit...

For a New York city hotel, this ticks all the boxes, excellent location, a little noisy, but remember where you are. our room was a superior room with comfortable beds & was spotlessly clean. Prior to booking I mentioned the trip was a special occasion, and on arrival, a bottle of wine was in our room, together with a welcome...

Stayed here for 4 nights. The rooms are VERY SMALL, but given that they are spotless. we were given a room on the street which was extremely noisy and also too low down, we complained, but wasn't given the option to change for 2 days so in the end put up with it. It took a lot of pestering to...

Not sure how anybody gives the hotel a 5. It arguably has a solid location -- better than being off the beaten path but downside is fighting times square mob scene anytime you want to even leave the hotel. The service is for sure a solid 4 or 5. However, the rooms are at best a 2/3. The a/c unit...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
