Had to make a comment on the Quality of service and cleanliness at Hotel 309. Every morning we had USA today waiting for us. The attendants were so helpful and kind. And the best part was the room. The decor; the brick, the marble amazed me. It felt historic and elegant at the same time. Only a few steps from...

I was a bit worried before we arrived due to the bad reviews on this site having never stayed at Hotel 309 before. However was pleased to have a pleasant stay in the Central Park room - loved the apartment style rooms so you could come and go as pleased, the staff were helpful and didnt keep us waiting too...

Needed a place to stay that was relatively inexpensive and near Greenwich Village. The hotel is in a great location and very fair price for what you get. I would stay there again, BUT my only complaint was service. Near impossible to get anyone to let you in or answer a phone call. Waited 20 mins on check out and...

Stayed here with 14 other guys in my singing group. We were all a little nervous due to the bad reviews but were blown away by this awesome place! Sure the rooms are little and the street noise was loud but what do you expect in the middle of Manhattan! The location cannot be beat and couldn't find a better...

I'll be honest: I had fears. But it turned out to be a pleasant stay. No elevator. unreliable wi-fi. no phone. no frills. Nothing fancy. If you're looking to be pampered by hotel staff, if you're looking for high class, this is not the place. Staff is often absent from front desk because they have chores up and down the...

Firstly let me say, that I am often put off by the reviews on this site, but on this occasion I wish I had listened to the bad opinions. I have travelled the world for the past few years, mostly staying in hostels, so I am used to the dodgy accomodation that you sometimes come across. This time, I was...

Hotel 309 isn't very impressive, but when your in NY for the first time you want to spend your money outside the hotel. We stayed in a "suite" on the fifth floor (no elevator), which was annoying. But we managed. You can't say it's a hotel, more like a hostel. But the suite has a bathroom inside the room, which...

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
