We had a wonderful stay at the Gansevoort in NYC. The hotel is in the heart of the trendy meat-packing district, surrounded by cobblestone streets and creative restaurants. The hotel itself is tastefully done: modern, yet comfortable. The rooms were spacious, and offered a great view of the snowy city. The staff at the hotel was excellent, from the front...

Loved this hotel. Booking process was slick and seamless thanks to Talia. Check in was quick. Loved the vibe and stylish feel of the hotel. Location sensational. The concierge and front door team are what stood out for me (especially Raoul). Always smiling rain or shine and there to open the door, help with umbrellas, get a cab and help...

We had spent a few nights at the Eventi in New York before arriving at the Gansevoort. We had a terrible experience with their customer service. First we had issues with their attitude, we arrived before check in was available, but just wanted to drop off our suitcases and get out to see more of NEW YORK! It was the...

The Meatpacking District is, in my opinion, the best area to stay when visiting New York City. It's close to the High Line, great restaurants and bars and the overall vibe of the area is buzzy and fun. The Hotel Gansevoort is trying to fit into this type of area but falls short. Bright colours is not what makes a...

When in New York for business, I typically stay at the Gansevoort hotel. Not only is the property located in an amazing part of town for restaurants and entertainment, the hotel in itself is it's own attraction in that the upstairs lounge turns into a very happening night spot. Convenient if you don't feel like venturing out but want to...

The Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC is the cutting edge of happening, high-end New York City hotels - with reasonable rates to boot. After two visits, my wife and I now consider the Gansevoort Meatpacking as our go-to place to stay in NYC. The views of the Hudson River from the roof-top bar/pool/club are spectacular, wide vistas. Better still, the rooms are...

Was a nice place. Now paper falling off walls and service is just ok. Can't say I would stay here again. Looks as if it needs a redo and some management. The Meatpacking Gansevoort hotel is well located within a shopping precinct. It is a nice hotel with unobtrusive and polite staff, clean rooms and good functionality. The roof bar is inviting and cool for friends. the noise from the streets however fill up the rooms and the reception bar on the ground floor can be quite chaotic.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
